Then you did not delete the FSX.cfg. Try again and make sure you delete fsx.cfg and not fsx.txt (well you can delete that one too). FSX needs to rebuild your config so that it can recognize your controllers and set them up properly.

Jim

this is what i have to delete in %APPDATA%\Microsoft\FSX. i deleted the fsx.cfg's and it did not create a new one, and i did it the way you said.

Edited by firehawk44
photo delete as no longer needed and it was too large

Aaron Brazda.

the file "fsx.CFG" is actually a Text document. Check the "Type" column.

You need to delete the file "fxs", which is a CFG file under the "Type" column.

That's why Jim said to disable "hide extensions for known file types" in your settings.

sorry i was deleteing the text i found the FSX.cfg and deleted and it created a new one. but its still behavingthe same way

Aaron Brazda.

I tried flying with the ifly jets and I got Different reactions yet again. When I fly the ifly 737 my hatswitch works but my mouse Cursor is giving me the same Effect that my hatswitch does. Also am able to use my mouse freely in the 2D cockpit and am able to Access all my settings without my mouse bugging out. As soon as I exit the flight and fsx go's to the free flight menu my mouse works fine For a few seconds then I can't click on Anything when I try it makes a ding sound, but yet the task Manager says its running and not not Responding????? Also my saitek throttle Quadrant is not working now.

Did you calibrate the joystick within FSX Controls? It looks like to me there's a conflict with some other program trying to use your joystick and mouse functions. Do you have FSUIPC installed? If it's the registered version, perhaps you set up a conflicting setting. Another possibility is a defective port where the mouse/Saitek throttle is located. Are they USB? Can you plug them into another USB port. The ports in the rear usually work better than the ones in the front of the computer. The next time you have an issue, try unplugging the mouse/throttle from the USB or other port, wait a few seconds, then plug them back in and see if they work after that. I did some searches on Google for hat switch does not work in fsx and got a lot of hits of problems with controllers throughout the flight sim community and possible fixes. That might be a good place to look. You can ask Google any question, even your whole OP can be pasted in the box. I saw many of the issues were associated with the settings within FSUIPC so that would be the place to look if you have that module installed (think it's automatically installed with iFly). I watched your short video and I have seen that problem before but I now have a super powerful, latest tech system and I can't recall what I did to fix it several years ago. I do know there are drivers for USB ports that make things work better and, of course, updated drivers for the hardware. I'm thinking maybe a memory address conflict but don't want you to get more confused than you already are (or me either!).

Glad you were able to find and delete the fsx.cfg. Sometimes that gets corrupted and deleting it and letting FSX rebuild it is better than repairing or reinstalling FSX. I deleted the picture you posted as it was huge and it was even taking time for my system to load it and I have a 75 Mbps Internet connection. It served its purpose and glad you did post it so eNuffSaid could see you were deleting the wrong file. I know your problem is frustrating and hope someone here can figure out exactly what's wrong.

Best regards,

Jim

Screw it, I'm just going to reinstall Microsoft flight simulator X From scratch and see if that works.

Aaron Brazda.

Hi Mate

I understand your frustration I have been there too and ended up completely uninstalling FS9 and doing a complete reinstall that usually solved the problem. I know you are using FSX but it makes no difference. I just hope you do not have many extra's installed. I used to avoid asking question on forums because so many people used so many abbreviations that I did not understand and that was my motivation for wiping and reinstalling LOL. Sometimes I guess that people sometimes forget you have not been exposed to any of those abbreviations, I see it a lot on forums. God bless em all!!

Forums like this one would never ever get started without those people, we need to remember that when we get frustrated because we don't understand what they are talking about (smile) remember to be patient mate everything takes time to happen. All I am offering is an option that is available to you. Good luck and good flying.....John

I uninstalled fsx and it works Fine now. The only thing now is when I change views It flashes back to the previous Heading back to the View I chose. But it's Working, so am not going try to fix something that's not broken. Unless There is a quick fix.

Aaron Brazda.

Glad you got it sorted, mate. Thanks for reporting back and happy flying!
