Are you guys watching the Justplanes 777 vids?

I have ordered the Turkish DVD and am currently awaiting its delivery. A little disappointing to hear about the Go-Around not been well covered, but I sure the rest of the DVD is top notch.

They're on final approach, then it skips to when they're climbing through around 2,000ft. I personally believe it was cut out as a request from the airline and/or captain. You can tell how tough it probably was by the captain pretty much fighting on the controls during the climb.

I have all Air Canada DVD's and I cannot be any happier with them! Great learning tool as well as for informational purposes.

I think it would be awesome if PMDG released a "behind the scenes dvd or video". I would be up to purchase somthing like that! :)

cheers,

Are any of them worth getting? Are any of them in HD? I have a dozen Justplanes titles but now unless they are in HD I will not be buying any more of them. When you look at Youtube HD clips of commercial a/c I cannot see why we should be buying the grainy sort of non HD stuff you see from Justplanes particularly those that feature nightime cockpit shots.

I have the AC CRJ/Q400 Blue Ray. It's very good. haven't seen the 777 yet. have to get those. The picture quality is great! Yes, they're in HD. Some of the older ones are not, but if I remember correctly all the AC ones are Blue Rays (in HD). They'll tell you what format on their web page.

This is the moment:

The ac was in Cruise at 38000 ft and the descent started at T/D, not later. ATC pointed FL260. Sorry for the atittude, it was almost 5 not 8. It´s my fault.

Excellent, thanks for that!

The autothrottle is in hold mode (i.e. it's just holding the current throttle position) probably because the speed trend arrow is moving up. The interesting bit is the bar to the right of the attitude indicator which is the VNAV deviation bar (the magenta triangle NOT to be confused with the ILS bugs!!!!!). This shows the aircraft is high on the descent profile (think of it as an ILS bug but for the VNAV profile and the one across the bottom is the LNAV deviation bar) and is flying above the VNAV defined path. Hence when VNAV starts it's descent it's high and would attempt to capture the vertical profile. If there is a speed constraint in the DES page in VNAV on the FMC then the high ROD scenario you described would occur for a short while as the aircraft initiates the descent. 8 degrees nose down would raise a fair few eyebrows!!!!!
