September 22, 201213 yr I have never had issues with UT2 until today when it didn't load with FSX. I shut down FSX and open the UT2 software and was faced with the error as follows " Program Error Error loading aircraft assignments. Invalid Argument=value of '0' is not valid for 'SelectedIndex'. Parameter name; Selectedindex" I have made absolutely no changes to my PC ( either to FSX or otherwise ) in recent times. In fact I have automatic updates switched off at the moment. I have done a search in this forum and although I have seen issues with assignments I haven't come across a thread with this particular error. UPDATE: OK, when i click on "Aircraft Repaints" I get this Unhandled Exception Error detail. See the end of this message for details on invoking just-in-time (JIT) debugging instead of this dialog box. ************** Exception Text ************** System.ArgumentOutOfRangeException: InvalidArgument=Value of '0' is not valid for 'SelectedIndex'. October 6, 201213 yr Does your computer meet the minimum system requirements for this product - http://www.flight1.com/products.asp?product=ut2: Imortant system requirements and notes prior to downloading! Flight Simulator Service Pack 2 Required. Make sure you have Service Pack 2 for FSX installed. You can get SP2 for FSX here. Microsoft .NET 3.5 Service Pack 1 is Required. Run Windows Update to get .NET 3.5 SP1 or you can click here to get the download direct from Microsoft. IMPORTANT: If you have the UT2 Demo, make sure it is uninstalled first. Also, use the check for updates feature in the program to download any hotfixes. Download UT2 (includes Service Pack 2) - This product is packaged in the Flight1.com E-commerce wrapper and may be downloaded for immediate use. After you download the file, when you run the executable, the purchase screen will appear. If you cannot find a solution and you meet the above requirements, I recommend submitting a ticket to Flight One and see if they have an answer. October 6, 201213 yr This is usually a problem with an aircraft.cfg file. Have you assigned any new textures or imported any plans? Also I recall that if you install "Bob" from ORBX there is something in that cfg that causes this error.
October 6, 201213 yr Adding to my post above, individuals who had this same error with UT2 were told their system does not meet the requirements for UT2. So the requirements I listed above was the probable solution to this error message. Best regards, Jim Jim Young | AVSIM Online! - Simming's Premier Resource! So the requirements I listed above was the probable solution to this error message. Best regards, Jim His i7 processor with 6gb memory and gtx 550 ti should more than meet the requirements for UT2. Several UT2 users have had this problem solved by locating an offending line in a cfg file. I can't recall which line in the "Bob" cfg file caused this crash, but it doesn't affect FSX, just UT2.
October 6, 201213 yr Author All of the requirements are met but I do have the possibly offending BOB installed. I'll remove it as I don't use him anyway and report back. Thanks guys. Anthony O'Brien
October 6, 201213 yr His i7 processor with 6gb memory and gtx 550 ti should more than meet the requirements for UT2. That was only one requirement and having a fast system does not prevent FSX crashes. You might have a point though about the fsx.cfg. Many crashes or issues are fixed by deleting/renaming the fsx.cfg, restarting FSX and allowing the config to rebuild. Best regards, Jim Jim Young | AVSIM Online! - Simming's Premier Resource! October 6, 201213 yr If you're getting that error I can guarantee it's a conflict with one of the ai or player aircraft.cfg's. See the fifth post on the this topic over at the UT2 Support Forums. Anthony Cacciatore
