October 6, 201213 yr I was cleaning my HD with Treesize and saw there were 18gb of 9mb .bmps in a \Pictures\Flight Simulator X folder. What's writing these? I know FSUIPC has a snapshot function but that is unchecked. Any ideas on how to track this down? Thanks, Mark https://www.dropbox.com/s/xuxfdixsqeugkl5/snapshot.JPG
October 6, 201213 yr When pressing the keyboard "V". FSX will save screen shots in the Users\Documents\Pictures\Flight Simulator X folder. Perhaps you have inadvertently pressed the V ?

October 7, 201213 yr Author HAHAHAHAH Awesome!!!! Sorry, it's just fun    Dude! This is embarassing! Wow 18GB...how long have you been taking screen shots? There must be some good pics in there I bet! I've used the 'V' keyboard command forever for spot view. Now I have to figure out an alternative...cntrl > Shift > backslash > Q > F1 should work.
October 7, 201213 yr That was rather , amusing. DOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOAH Now you know how to make a screen shot!
October 7, 201213 yr Author That was rather , amusing. DOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOAH Now you know how to make a screen shot! All right, now that everyones had a good laugh  Is there a keyboard command for spot view (not F11 Locked) that all you brainiacs can provide....
October 7, 201213 yr You could just remove the "take screenshot" command from the V key in the FSX controls options. That's probably the simplest way, at least as long as you don't care about screenshots/use another program for it. Regards, Flo Florian
October 7, 201213 yr Quite entertaining with the "v" key , but Newtie actually asked a good question, for which I have been seeking the answer for myself. Can you actually make a shortcut key direct to the "spot view" ? Not a "cycle through view" key, but a shortcut key that will take you direct to "spot view". And Newtie, did you manage to set up the "v" key to go direct to "spot view" ? And if confirmed, how did you do that ? Best regards Soeren
October 7, 201213 yr Yeah I think you can if you goto the controls menu in FSX and on the drop down select views and I think its an option that you can assign any key you want to it. Gavin Price

Hi Gman I am afraid that is only possible with the "locked spot" view. I wonder if it is possible to do something with the camera.cfg or some other magic stuff  to make a shortcut direct to the "spot" view. Not really sure though... Soeren

October 7, 201213 yr If you have registered version of FSUIPC. Assigning a controller button or any combination of key presses to FSUIPC Camera Definition 3 will work. Why can you not assign key-presses using the default button and keys command to the Locked Spot view? Making sure their unassigned. ex. ctrl/shift/O. The main point is on unassigned, unlike V. Or if you insist on using V. Delete it from the Capture screen shot assignment. One thing I don't understand in all this. How does "V" get you to spot view. It doesn't on my default assignments?
