A 1+ degree slope>does not make any measurable difference in takeoff power,>etc.Adding to the actual problem of a "flat runway" is the fact that we live on a sphere! Any surface 2+ miles long will actually be CURVED anyway! :)This reminded me of the true story of the founder of the "Flat Earth Society," who once owned property near Naples, Florida. In an attempt to "prove" that the earth is actually flat, they began constructing a very long pier, extending out into the Gulf of Mexico. I don't recall now just how long they actually managed to build before a hurricane wiped out their work, but it was long enough to demonstrate that their theory was incorrect! Of course, they then had to invent all sorts of "spin" to show how the visible evidence was somehow LYING to them... :) Fr. July 7, 200421 yr You may be talking about Lukla, Nepal (VNLK). Good pics on airliners.net. Check for Lukla on the airport field. Dave Vega dv Win 10 Pro || i7-8700K || 32GB || ASUS Z370-P MB || NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1080 Ti 11Gb || 2 960 PRO 1TB, 840 EVO My Files in the AVSIM Library
July 7, 200421 yr Author 15L here in Toronto (CYYZ) is sloped a bit. If you stand at the north end of the runway (near dixie road) it slopes upward and you cannot even see the other end.And yes, Courcheval is amazing is it not?See you in the fence...CYYZ Al Stiff
July 7, 200421 yr Now if only I could find a sloping lake, I could finally use those water skies I bought three years ago.:-hah John
July 7, 200421 yr I've watched landings and departures from Courcheval whilst skiing there - boy it's scary. Always makes me glad I drove to the resort!!I have to go try it out in FS though, but need the terrain mesh first."Bend ze knees!"
