July 8, 200421 yr FSUIPC seemed like a handy little utility when it was free. I have no problem with the author deciding to charge for the full version it (and he should). The question I have is that is it really worth $28 US (based on current exchange rate). I see that many people use this module still, but I
July 8, 200421 yr For me, it was an easy choice. I use so many of the functions in FSUIPC, that buying it was no problem. -the option to prevent cockpit sizing and moving This one is such a little thing, but it is so irritating when you click and accidentally move your panel off center. -all the joystick calibration and button options-all the weather optionsThose are just the ones off the top of my head. ------------------------- Craig from KBUF
July 8, 200421 yr And it just keeps getting better and more useful. 3.30 has the ability to smooth wind changes and it really makes it a breeze to fly.....hehehee :-)Ed GreenKCLThttp://www.panelshop.com/DEV.jpghttp://www.globecargo.org/images/VAA_Sen_captain.jpg
July 8, 200421 yr This is one app that I consider its cost is amortized over all the features it presents and the many flights I've performed that it enhances and even in some cases offers corrections to the model control and environment.I suggest you download the current version, read the docs (release notes, user's guide, adv. user's guide) to make an informed decision.Remember that some add-ons include partial registration for needed features and interfacing, but with the additional user controls offered, it is in my opinion one of the best add-on investments.
July 8, 200421 yr I have read through the docs and I am trying to convince myself to get it. One other question I have is when you register it how long will that entitle you to new versions? In other words when version 4.0 comes out will I have to purchase it again?
July 8, 200421 yr Well I decided to go ahead and get it.Not sure about the purchase procedure. I paid for it and my account at the SimMarket shows that the order is complete. I received an email about the order as well, but I cant find any registration information.Any thoughts?
July 8, 200421 yr My advice is read thishttp://forums.simflight.com/viewtopic.php?t=8906It's all explained in detail. Also since you are in the forum take a look and count how many questions are without an answer. Couldn't found even one.Jos
July 8, 200421 yr I haven't registared yet, as I haven't really used it that much. The new version though seems to have corrected a major problem with Flight1 Ultimate Traffic Palmspotter utility (Which incidently doesn't use FSUIPC) that I think I'm going to registar anyway!! The Palmspotter for those who don't know is a guage utility that displays departure and arrival info for UT's AI flights. Up until now it hasn't been able to account for all flights. Since installation of 3.30 this is no longer a problem as 100% of all flights are now displayed. Great work Pete!! Thanks Tom My Youtube Videos! http://www.youtube.com/user/tf51d
July 8, 200421 yr Thanks. I had seen that, but I thought some user input would be handy. As mentioned above I made the purchase. Im still trying to figure out how to get the registration key. The charge is complete and the SimMarket shows the order as processed and complete. I have an order number, but no registration info.
July 9, 200421 yr You should get an e-mail from [email protected] with the procedure and key. You should be aware that Pete is undergoing eye treatments and has had to slow down a bit, so give him a day or two. The Simmarket response was probably automated, Pete is not. He is generally pretty speedy in response. Allow for the time zone difference (He is in the UK) and also the time for Simmarket to send him your details.
July 9, 200421 yr Thanks I got it figured out. The SimMarket sends an automated response with this line "Follow this link to see your order details, retrieve registration keys and for links for Direct Download Delivery:". This led me to believe that I should have been able to get the key at that point. Pete cleared everything up for me as well.
