October 19, 201213 yr I guess there are weight savings in not having the doors and due to the shape of the tyres and amount that sticks out into the airflow, the amount of drag would be negligible. Thanks for the additional information Yoda. Rgds Craig
October 19, 201213 yr Thanks Trevor and Stans. I looked at the Beechcraft website and all the pics show complete retraction of the main wheels. Learn something new everyday  You're referring to the King Air 350, I believe. That aircraft has fully retracting main gear. Matthew Bellette
October 19, 201213 yr I dont have the plane bytes, so I can't help with specific sounds... but just look in your B200 folder/sound. Open sound.cfg and find the sounds you need to change and add volume lines to that sound. Example; [FLAPS] filename=B58_flaps flags=0 viewpoint=1 initial_volume=50000 minimum_volume=30000 maximum_volume=70000 10000 is maximum volume. I suspect the traffic sound is in a section called "Other Sounds". It may not be plainly labeled, so you may have to play each .WAV sound in the sound folder to find it. This can also be applied to the engine sounds. As always, make a backup copy of the sound.cfg before making changes. My thanks, HawkDsl. Excellent reply, easy to understand. bytes
October 19, 201213 yr Yoda in the house!!! Seriously though, glad to have one of the most knowledgeable, respected authorities on FS Beech turbo-twins here. Thanks, Trevor! I feel like my posts in this forum should come with a disclaimer: "Heavily involved in development of a competing product." So...I won't be getting involved in any discussions relating to product comparison or bug fixing. I'm also not going to do a tutorial for this one any time soon. Happy, however, to stay involved in discussions of how the plane is flown (there are many folks out there who know more than I do about this), and other discussions like this one! October 19, 201213 yr Just seen another post about the alert sound; It's located in the FSX main sound folder. The sound volume may be under the model code. In such a case where it can't be changed with an edit in the sound.cfg, you can edit the sound itself with a .wav editor, and simply lower the decibel level in the file, and save. A good freeware .wav editor is Audacity.
