October 19, 201213 yr This is a first attempt to get dual RXP GNS units installed, complete with popups. 1. You need to have the RXP Unlimited package installed for this to work 2. Use the RXP530.exe app (in the Aircraft folder) to install the first 530 3. Open up the panel.cfg file (make a backup first) with Notepad and make the following changes //-------------------------------------------------------- [Window06] window_size=0.297619,0.342857 position=8 visible=0 ident=15532 zorder=99 gauge00=rxpGNS!GNS530_2,0,0,100,100 //-------------------------------------------------------- [Vcockpit01] ..... gauge04=rxpGNS!GNS530, 0, 0, 512,372 gauge05=rxpGNS!GNS530_2, 512, 0, 510,372 ... 4. Add an rxpgns.ini file to the Aircraft folder with the following content [GNS530] Popup=10000 AutoPilotMode=2 Radios=1 LinkCdiKey=On AutoApproach=Off LinkVor=1 LcdStyle=off AutoWidth=500 AutoHeight=350 Trainer= NoKeyClick=Off DisableRxTx=Off AutoPowerOn=On GndSpdFromDeltaLatLon=Off Crossfill=On [GNS530_2] AutoPilotMode=2 Radios=2 LinkCdiKey=Off AutoApproach=Off LinkVor=2 LcdStyle=Off AutoWidth=500 AutoHeight=350 Trainer= NoKeyClick=Off DisableRxTx=Off AutoPowerOn=On GndSpdFromDeltaLatLon=Off Popup=15532 Crossfill=On [sETTINGS] Dimmer=Off SimpleMouse=Off Keyonfocus=On 5. Make sure you turn off Instrument Reflections in the B200 (shift-5 to access the controls) or the popups do not work. Bert
October 20, 201213 yr So. What exactly does this do. As I have two RXPGNS 530 installed in the B200 and didnt spend a 100 bucks?
October 20, 201213 yr Author If you have two rxpgns!gns530 gauges installed in the panel, they are mirror images of each other.. An rxpgns!530_2 gauge operates independently and can be set to automatically crossfill flight plan info. Bert
October 20, 201213 yr Hi Bert, A gentleman in the other B200 RXP 530 post said the line "LinkGPS=On" in the RXPGNS.ini is all that's needed to network two RXP units for Crossfill. Have you used that line option? Do you have RXP Unlimited? I have it and I love it. But, who cares - right? I just wondered if you have tried the option he speaks of. It's great if it works - as you know, the "Crossfill" function is all some folks want. I wanted to try that line, but I can't test it credibly because Unlimited is installed. My curiosity isn't strong enough to make me uninstall Unlimited... I need more info before advising anyone in the VA I belong to. That's why I wondered if you had tried it. Thanks, have a good weekend. P.S. - my A36 is a two RXP 430 Unlimited 350 Turbo-Horse screamer. I love it - thanks again for the help. Mark Nault
October 20, 201213 yr Author Hi Bert, A gentleman in the other B200 RXP 530 post said the line "LinkGPS=On" in the RXPGNS.ini is all that's needed to network two RXP units for Crossfill. Have you used that line option? If you do not have the Unlimited package, you can install a single RXP 530 and use the line LinkGPS=On to transfer the RXP flightplan data to FSX. The second (Carenado) 530 will pick up and display that data, which is very much like Crossfill. In that case, you have the RXP GNS in the left position and the Carenado GNS2 in the right position. October 20, 201213 yr This is a first attempt to get dual RXP GNS units installed, complete with popups. Hello Bert --- well, I decided to join the "B200 Club" and installed it. Nice in many respects as compared to the C90 -- more on that later. I followed your guidelines above for install of the dual RXP530 displays and everything appears (not fully checked out yet) to be working as expected with one minor glitch. Maybe you have seen this before -- on the #2 (right) unit, on the panel, upper right corner. Under the "RXP 530" characters, the "XP" letters are not visible. But they do appear on the pop-up of the right display. This one has me stumped -- have not seen this before on the 430 pairs -- but this is my first RXP 530 pair install. Any clues ??? I have included my RXPGNS file I am using below. Please take a look and see if I have overlooked anything. All the content you mentioned, is included along with some 'carry-over' items from another file. October 20, 201213 yr Author Not much that can be done... The right GNS is not meant to be replaced (by Carenado), so the frame remains when we manually install the second GNS. Bert
October 20, 201213 yr Not much that can be done... The right GNS is not meant to be replaced (by Carenado), so the frame remains when we manually install the second GNS. Figured is was something like that. Oh well. Still looks good and appears to be working well. Gotta get some stick time now --- nice looking addition to the hangar. Thanks Again --- Bob Bob Magill
October 21, 201213 yr Author If you would like the EHSI to automatically show the GPS course (rather than manually set it), add a line to the rxpgns.ini file. in the [GNS530] section: AutoCourse=On Bert
October 21, 201213 yr If you would like the EHSI to automatically show the GPS course (rather than manually set it), add a line to the rxpgns.ini file. in the [GNS530] section: AutoCourse=On Just made the adjustment. Thanks for the tip. I have been away from FSX and the RXP activity for a while but now getting "re-educated". The B200 will be a good platform for that Certainly appreciate the inputs. I like the improvements that were made in the B200 -- the sounds are better even though subtle. The click for the AP on the HSI is sure handy too. I keep praying that some day we will see the ability to add the WX500 RXP radar to a plane that should have a "functional" wx radar. We keep hoping. Real Air, as you noted, has it together on nice user flexibility on RXP configuration. Cheers --- Bob Bob Magill
November 15, 201213 yr Silly question probably, but as just going to get the B200 and have no other plane with two GPSs. Will install my RXP530W but if two GPSs and not linked/different plans, how does the plane know which GPS to use - just a switch somewhere? Thanks, Mike
November 15, 201213 yr Author If you install 2X530 without the Unlimited package, the two will be identical, no different plans possible. The first GPS will steer the autopilot. FSX only knows of one GPS, not two. If you install dual 530s with the Unlimited package, the first GPS will still guide the autopilot. Typically you would enable automatic Crossfill, so that the two are linked and share the same flightplan. But now you can have different pages open and different radios tuned on the two GNS units. Bert
November 15, 201213 yr Sorry, to get a) the carenado one to show the active flight plan from the RXP and B) either of them to pop up on click (as on e.g. Legacy do I need to create and play around with an RXP.ini and? Or is it not possible . . . Thanks again, Mike
November 15, 201213 yr Where is the Rxpgns.ini in the B200. In the Realair legacy it's in the air rafts root directory. But there no sign of it in the Carenado B200 I used the carenado built in setup to install it. It is working in the panel.
