OpusFSX a Movie

Featured Replies

Just a quick on the fly movie I made of Opus in action, Flying into CYQY, notice how the Overcast cloud deck does not just suddenly appear, like other weather engines, it stays the whole time, I punch through it and have 8 miles visibility just like the Metar reported, and the thick solid cloud deck remains above me. Opus rules and is only getting better.

Why were your clouds showing a bright pinkish/orange color at night time? When I go thru clouds at night it looks grey not bright like yours. When I go to that part of the video I though it had suddenly turned to sunrise or sunset then back to night when you got thru that layer.

Ian, Is that CYQY default or freeware addon ?

I have seen that with some Rex cloud texture I use to use. Been a while so cannot remember what the name of the set was. I have gone back to using FEX with NickN's cloud and water set with HDEV2 sky and have not seen the pink tint again.

Its is doing that because of my Shade settings. Freaks me out sometimes, lol

Ahh shade, thanks for reminding me Ian. I have not used Shade fro a while, and thought it was REX. I stand corrected.

Ah, I didn't know Shade made any difference at night. I never did buy Shade, have been considering it, but if it makes the clouds do that at night or in low vis conditions I will probably pass.

Nice! This is what I want, I'm trying to configure Active Sky to give me the same thing. I don't want to give up the other AS features yet... but this is looking good!

There are so many different profiles for shade, not all of them produce this effect.

Just tried the opus wx this morning for the first time since I bought it on a flight from ksfo to kfat.

Low clouds in San Fran with haze that continued all the way to Fresno where visibility was exactly as reported.

Super impressed.
