Autopilot Problem

Featured Replies

Hello, i just bought FS2Crew for the NGX. After takeoff, everything normal, my autopilot will not engage. All control surfaces are not being moved and are in their no deflection positions, both FDs are on, both Lnav and Vnav are on, no warning lights on recall or the over head, no failures in the FMC failures section, nothing wrong, everything normal. I had just completed a flight when i bought this and everything was normal. im using the button version.

Can you engage the autopilot manually?

Also, increase the null zone on your joystick... it doesn't take much "noise" for the NGX to think you're trying to deflect a control surface, which would prevent the autopilot from engaging.

The other equally likely possibility is that your autopilot was not configured properly to accept an autopilot engagement.

Cheers,

above 400 feet before you engage the autopilot

It's not my joystick, I had just done two flights with our fs2crew and it was fine, auto pilot is set up fine, the same as I always set it up, nether command a or b will engage manually, or though fs2crew. Yes I'm above 400 feet.

Please check also check the PMDG forum to confirm that conditions that need to be met for the autopilot to accept an engagement.

FS2Crew doesn't touch the autopilot's internal logic at all. FS2Crew only accesses the NGX through the PMDG SDK.

Cheers,

I have had this on one or two occasions. It seems to be that PMDG gets a bit "tongue-tied" at times and although the conditions for engaging A/P are all met, you will need to do a re-start of FSX for everything to get in sync again.
