November 16, 201213 yr Hi folks Having bought this, i can see it has SERIOUS potential but i could do with some help please? It's the camara views I seem to be REALLY struggling with. I have removed Ezdok AFTER resetting the views to default;-) I've printed and read the manuals but seem to have some kind 'mental block' creating and saving VC views:-( Are there by chance, any tutorial videos around? At this stage it's difficult to describe what mean. I know it'll be me and NOT the program. Windows 10 (x64) - X-Plane 11 - M/B: Asus ROG Maximus IX Hero - CPU: i7 7700k (@5.0GHz) - RAM: 32Gb Corsair Vengeance LPX DDR4 @ 3200MHz - Video: GTX1080ti - Cooling: Custom water loop (EK 140 Revo D5 pump/res combo, EK EVO CPU block, EK XE360 Rad)
November 16, 201213 yr Author One of the things i can't seem to get right, is the transition between VC views when switching. This is what I get... Windows 10 (x64) - X-Plane 11 - M/B: Asus ROG Maximus IX Hero - CPU: i7 7700k (@5.0GHz) - RAM: 32Gb Corsair Vengeance LPX DDR4 @ 3200MHz - Video: GTX1080ti - Cooling: Custom water loop (EK 140 Revo D5 pump/res combo, EK EVO CPU block, EK XE360 Rad)
November 16, 201213 yr Commercial Member Hi Phil If you mean the zooming when switching between views then that is a result of having different zoom levels set for the different views. It is best to set the same level of zoom where practical for all views and change the xyz position instead within the view. Or do you mean the transition speed? Regards Cheryl
November 16, 201213 yr Author Ah, i understand about the different zoom levels, as ezdok is the same. I hadn't changed any zoom settings though, so it's getting that info from i don't know where;-) What bothers me the most is the way it jumps through another view, on the way to one selected. I can see how adjust the speed, thanks. I'm gonna have to REALLY study the manual more I guess. I can CREATE and adjust views okay, but have difficulty sharing those views with other aircraft. For some reason i find that bit really difficult (NOT a crit by the way). An example is... I'd created 3 simple VC views for the ** Spitfire, was in the process of saving them (or so i thought), when suddenly the aircraft selector said I was working with the 737. I'll get there in the end.... If you can ever get round to a couple of short and simple youtube tutorials it'd be cool;-) Windows 10 (x64) - X-Plane 11 - M/B: Asus ROG Maximus IX Hero - CPU: i7 7700k (@5.0GHz) - RAM: 32Gb Corsair Vengeance LPX DDR4 @ 3200MHz - Video: GTX1080ti - Cooling: Custom water loop (EK 140 Revo D5 pump/res combo, EK EVO CPU block, EK XE360 Rad)
November 16, 201213 yr Author Many hours later and I still can't work out how save camara views for multiple aircraft:-( I just don't understand what I'm doing wrong. After creating a view that I want, with the aircraft loaded on screen, using options 'Restrict Camaras to Types' or 'Assign Aircraft Types', doesn't create any vies for any aircraft OTHER than the one currently loaded in FSX. Am I misunderstanding the manual? Surely I can do this? Any help MUCH appreciated. Do not touch the Restrict Aircraft button at all. Just leave it saying All Aircraft. 2. Use the Add New Camera after selecting a similar view or at least the view type. 3. Set the view using the arrow keys. 4. Use the Assign Aircraft button to select what group of aircraft you want the view to be associated with. 5. Name the view and assign a button or unused key to it. 6. When done click in Save All Cameras and exit. Your FSXSERVER.CAM file should have been updated, you can check this just in case you have OpusFSX in more than one directory, or have no sharing or access rights to even update the file. If in doubt, just email me your FSXSERVER.CAM file and I will have a look. Regards Stephen
November 17, 201213 yr Commercial Member AHM works OK here. Does it work in the dialog when you test it? Have you enabled TrackIR since that would automatically disable AHM? Cheryl
November 17, 201213 yr Commercial Member Dougal, are you using the latest beta? I do remember a similar problem a few weeks back when you could get the default view popping up between view transitions. Does it happen in full screen as opposed to windowed FSX? Cheryl
November 18, 201213 yr Author Hi Cheryl and thanks for the help. Yes, I am using the beta. However, after a completly fresh reinstall, that issue has just 'gone away'. Don't ask 'cos i've no idea how or why;-) I am SLOWLY getting to gripps with what is a much bigger application, than it first appears. OpusFSX really is a great piece of kit. I do still have one thing I don't understand... That is, that after creating a new camara view, after then clicking 'save all', the edit screen then jumps to a completely different aircraft camara. That means, that if I haven't noticed it happen, then click save again after an edit, it will have associated the wrong camara to that aircraft. Does that make any sense to you? Windows 10 (x64) - X-Plane 11 - M/B: Asus ROG Maximus IX Hero - CPU: i7 7700k (@5.0GHz) - RAM: 32Gb Corsair Vengeance LPX DDR4 @ 3200MHz - Video: GTX1080ti - Cooling: Custom water loop (EK 140 Revo D5 pump/res combo, EK EVO CPU block, EK XE360 Rad)
November 18, 201213 yr Commercial Member Hi Dougal OpusFSX reorganises the camera views after you save and will display the first or default view. We will see if we can alter this. Regards Cheryl
November 18, 201213 yr Commercial Member Hi Dougal I should also mention we will soon be upgrading Live Camera to allow the user to manually adjust the camera view order in the list. When we do this we will get rid of the automatic re-ordering that takes place now when you click Save All Cameras. The new ordering will be achieved using simple up and down arrow buttons on the edge of the Camera Views list. Regards Stephen P.S. Beta 2.50.3 has been posted today which has a few fixes and more improvements. This is very near to being posted as a release version, so you will find release 2.50 available soon as well.
November 18, 201213 yr Author Wow, you guys don't hang about do you;-) Would it ever be possible have Opus save a view after making any adjudtments with the hat switch and - or + keys, then hit 'save as' or the like? Windows 10 (x64) - X-Plane 11 - M/B: Asus ROG Maximus IX Hero - CPU: i7 7700k (@5.0GHz) - RAM: 32Gb Corsair Vengeance LPX DDR4 @ 3200MHz - Video: GTX1080ti - Cooling: Custom water loop (EK 140 Revo D5 pump/res combo, EK EVO CPU block, EK XE360 Rad)
November 18, 201213 yr Commercial Member That would be nice but unfortunately no. The view control and support within FSX is very basic, i think it was never really finished. So it is impossible to even know what view you have displayed let alone what changes you have made to to. You cannot read what the selected view is, what the eye point is, or what the current zoom level is. Regards Stephen
November 19, 201213 yr Auto head movement has stopped working, Im sure its an easy fix ? that was meant to be a question :-) If I click on camera view, it zooms out as usual but I dont get any auto head movement . It was working okay up until now, what should I do? ZORAN
