PA-28 Power Modification

Featured Replies

Anyone know what lines in the aircraft config I would edit to reduce the power. In my opinion, it is way overpowered in it's current state.

Try:

[piston_engine]

power_scalar = 1.125 //Piston power scalar was 1.0

As you can see, I actually increased the power... but try 0.90 or 0.80 to reduce power..

Hi Bert,

May I ask why you increased the power without sounding obvious lol.

I assume in your opinion it was underpowered and the increase was more true to life.

Dave

Dave, I have never flown a Piper Arrow, but yes, I felt it could use some more power..

In the real world, I might have taken it to the shop for some engine tuning..

Bert

Oooh it was the Arrow...

The PA-28 is a big family I thought he meant the Cherokee or Archer.

Dave

I'm absolutely with you Dave ...... I reduced the power scalar on the Cherokee and Archer to 0.85 to give a better reflection of the 140-160hp PA28 models I've flown in real life, and their sluggishness!

The Arrow is a different beast.

I will follow this advice also. I own a 150 hp Cherookee and I also think it is over powered. I usually run base and final at 1300 RPM in real life and I need to go much lower in the sim to get a reasonnable rate of descent.

P3D when its freezing in Quebec....well, that's most of the time...
C-GDXL based at CYQB for real flying when its warming up...
