November 18, 201213 yr I don't know if this just stated with version 1.6 but when I run FSX with FS2Crew operating and close FSX it remains active and I have to shut down windows to close it. It won't restart from the start icon. If I start NGX but not FS2Crew it closes properly. Not a huge problem but maybe someone has an idea how to fix it. Larry
November 18, 201213 yr Commercial Member Hi Larry, Not sure, I've never seen that before. Happens everytime? There were no changes in 1.6 that would significantly alter anything. 1.6's biggest change is that I fixed the weird gate arrival CTD that a few users experienced from time to time. The other stuff was mainly just minor data edits and some changes some sound files. So if it never happened in 1.5, then 1.6 shouldn't make a difference. Cheers, B. November 18, 201213 yr Author I don't think it was happening before the update although I've only had it about a week. I think the update did help with the jetways, they seem more stable now. I'll keep watching, It may be an odd reaction with scenery or UT2. Not a big problem, I can just restart the computer after a flight. Larry

November 20, 201213 yr Im pretty sure that this happens to me as well... Im not 100% sure that it is FS2CREW that is causing it but when I saw this topic I thought "Hey, this is exactly what happens to me" It only happens when I have performed a flight from point A to point B using FS2CREW and the NGX... If I just start FSX with the NGX standing at the gate, then I can close FSX just fine... But as soon as FS2CREW is started (and the flight has been performed, and I have landed and taxied to the gate) performed the shutsdown and everything. Then try to close FSX, I get the "are you sure you want to quit-message" I press yes... and nothing happens... I have to forcely close FSX through the task manager... Niklas Eriksson
November 20, 201213 yr Author The same happens to me, It only happens after a point to point flight (I tried several settings just opening an closing it and it was ok). However Mine will close but leaves the FSX icon on the tool bar and the only way to close it is to restart Windows 7. The task manager will not close it. Still not a big problem but glad it's not just me Larry
November 20, 201213 yr Ditto with me as well. Happened with 1.5 too. Fly with out FScrew no problems. (not the way to use this plane without FScrew) After successful flight with FScrew I have the problem when closing out of FSX. Normally time for bed so just alt+Ctrl+del and close things before shutting down Computer. Trevor Golding
November 21, 201213 yr It seems like this is somewhat of a problem that happens in the quiet, noone pays much attention to it, but many of us has it... The only annoying thing is that the maintenance hours in the ngx doesnt seem to count when fsx "crashes":-) and all your fsx settings you have changed resets... Still not a big problem... November 21, 201213 yr Commercial Member I've never experienced it, but I'll look at it. Shouldn't be a factor, but my only thought is not to shutdown FSX while the FO is doing a flow. Thanks for letting me know. Cheers, B. York FS2Crew Web Site / FS2Crew Facebook Page / FS2Crew Discord
November 21, 201213 yr I have been waiting for the F/O to "stop" I havent gone through the complete secure aircraft checklist... I often close FS as soon as the engines are shut down... Niklas Eriksson
November 21, 201213 yr Hi Bryan, Just for info, when i finish flight and at the terminal. Have not done the secure part as I always leave the flight for next leg. Running is FSX - Go flight modules - Steves interface - GSW - any airport. Shutdown problem (small) only happens with FScrew operating. Never worried about it as thought it must be my fiddeling as never saw any one else having same trouble. Regards Trevor Golding
November 22, 201213 yr I actually tried at the last flight to do the whole secure aircraft procedure, including the checklist and all... Then FSX closed down correctly... Can it be it has something to do with doing the secure the aircraft procedure? Niklas Eriksson

December 5, 201213 yr I know this is an old topic somewhat but I had the same issue and figured out what was preventing FSX from shutting down. Make sure you turn the HS (headset) button off before you close out FSX or it hangs. It must only happen with certain USB headsets or soundcards since not everybody has the issue. Sean Green
