I had a CTD just at the end of a long flight and among other things checked my temps. 90C!! I'm thinking I have a problem with my H-100 as none of the hoses is hot or even warm to the touch and when I start Prime 95 I don't hear the fan kicking in. The LED's on top show ok, and I'm idle temps of about 36C. How can I troubleshoot the H-100? Any other ideas?

 

EDIT: I popped the cover and cleaned the rad as best I could with a light brush as I don't have any compressed air at the moment. It was pretty dirty but is a lot better now. Didn't make any difference, and I'm still not hearing the fan kick in and the hoses are not getting warm.

A bit of a stretch here but are you using the TIM (thermal goo/grase) that came with the H100 or something else?

I ordered some TIM when I bought the H100 but didn't use it because everything I read online said the TIM that came with it was pretty good quality.

Pump hasn't failed by any chance has it?

The TIM on the H100 is crumby. I swapped mine out for IC Diamond 7 paste and it dropped temps 6-7C. Also, re-seat the waterblock, it sounds like it might not be making full contact with the CPU.

H100 SB2700k @4.8 Prime95 with proper vcore it seems you ar at least 15C to high
