November 21, 201213 yr I have a good friend that lives out of state and we would like to fly on-line. We tried to connect today, but were not successful. Does anyone know if version 10.11 works in a multiplayer environment? November 21, 201213 yr I've never been able to get it to work with my friend as well. Maybe we weren't entering in the correct IP Address, I don't know which one to use but we tried all combinations. Possibly someone else could shed some light on this. Is it done yet? When will it be released? Will it be freeware or payware? How much will it cost? Any updates on the progress? Will it work for Xbox? Can I be a beta tester? How's the performance in VR?
November 21, 201213 yr we would like to fly on-line It's possible to fly on-line with X-Plane on ATC networks like IVAO, PilotEdge or VATSIM. Just search for X-IvAp or XSquawkBox. Happy flying. Georges - OpenStreetMap - Ubuntu GNU/Linux -

At least I do confirm that it was possible flying in IVAO. But not quite sure how all those plugins will handle the new 64bit X-Plane..

November 22, 201213 yr Author Hi All, What I have in mind is linking my friends Mac to my windows 7 PC. We were successful with X-Plane 9, and now we want to do the same with X-Plane 10. So we didn't need these other on-line services like IVAO, etc. I will try later after Thanksgiving, but I hope the developers, as one of their objectives, makes multiplayer much more robust than X-Plane 9 Bill Clark Windows 10 Pro, Ver 21H2 CPU I5-8600K 5.0GHz, GPU Nvidia RTX 3090 VRAM 24GB Gigabyte Z370 Gaming 7, 2TB M2.NVMe, RAM 32GB

July 21, 201411 yr Commercial Member I realize this is old, but you can use native multiplayer over the internet, too, you just have to make sure you can make a direct P2P connection between the two boxes. This usually involves port forwarding and firewall holes which is typically beyond the level of comfort for most people. You can spend a few hours trying to get that working, or, as others have suggested, you're probably better off with a client/server multiplayer model using the networks that have been suggested. Another suggestion would be to check out SmartCoPilot, a shared cockpit plugin for X-Plane. If you want to fly with a buddy, this is by far the most enjoyable way to do it. It allows you to fly a single airplane together. Here are some links to some videos of shared cockpit flights: https://www.youtube.com/results?search_query=pilotedge+shared+cockpit Keith Smith PilotEdge Founder ASEL (instrument) Lancair 360
July 21, 201411 yr Keith...I have flown in years passed with friends on mulitplayer over the internet...don't recall how we did it but it was all provided for in the menus at that time and worked fine. You didn't need to be on the same LAN either. I'm assuming it should still work this way, yes? If so...would you happen to know all the ports that the host needs to have open on their router? Thanks!
