November 22, 201213 yr Hi, I am using RC for a while now but I keep getting 2 problems. The first has is that ATC tells me after takeoff that they cannot see my transponder. I have a hardware Opencockpits transponder working thru SIOC and Prosim737. The right squawk code is entered as checked, and is in TA/RA mode. Usualy by pressing the ident button the problem is fixed. Still this should not happen. The second one is I keep getting go around's with the message "gear not lowered, check checklist" I do like the steak medium rare comment But the gear is down, locked, 3 green.. both in Prosim737 and in FS outside view (even in the not used 2D FSX panel) What can I do to fix these problems. Regards, Dennis My cockpit is built with Opencockpits products, interface thru FSUIPC, SIOC and Prosim 737 software.
November 22, 201213 yr Sorry I can't help but couldn't resist to comment on your simpit! Looks fantastic! Did it take you long to put it all together? and what display system are you using? James W
November 22, 201213 yr Author Hi James, Thanks for the compliment :good: It took me 2 years to buid the cockpit. I build it from scatch, mostly MDF plates and Opencockpits panels. The overhead is from Poldragonet.Throttle is Throttletek737, pedestal is also Opencockpits panels on MDF base. The outside visuals are 2x 24" TFT's connected with a Dualhead2go. Here's a picture at the EDDL with all systems on (in Light Test mode). And the outside view of the simulator.
November 22, 201213 yr Going out on a limb here as I've only dabbled in Prosim. But I would look at what Flight model you are using and check to make sure that the Transpoder code in SIm changes also. If you're using Prosim's Jetstream model it could not be using FS defaults. Prosim exists outside FS and it could be why RC4 doesn't recognize every function. Might want to ask Marty or check the Prosim forum for inputs.
November 22, 201213 yr Author Both should not really matter, but I will ask on the Prosim forum too. My transponder works thru SIOC directly into flightsim, not Prosim. The jetstream flightmodel is just that,, a tweaker aircraft.cfg and air file. The 3D model is the default FSX 737. I wil try tonight with the standard FSX 737, see what happens
November 22, 201213 yr Commercial Member rc has to see the transponder code that fs has. rc doesn't know anything about your cockpit. some how you have to get your cockpit transponder to put the transponder code into fs, so rc can see it. same with the gears. if fs doesn't have the gears down, rc doesn't see the gear down. make sure your gear is down soon enough jd JD Read my blog
November 22, 201213 yr Author Hi JD, Gears are down in time and visable lowered in outside view. My gear handle is setup in Prosim which sends it to FS so I will check on this, but the transponder is not connected thru Prosim but directly to FS. Thanks Dennis p.s. although I am 90% sure I tried this when I tested my new pedestal, I will test with default FSX 737. And check the gear lights in the 2D cockpit and check if the transponder changes with my hardware.
November 22, 201213 yr Author Hi JD, Just did a full flight to test the problems. Both occured again. I doublechecked every move with the FS 2d cockpit and radio panel. All landing gear light work correctly and so did all the gears. Same goes for the transponder, this was correctly displayed in FS radio panel.
November 22, 201213 yr There have been very recent changes regarding FSUIPC4 LUA interfaces. I don't know if that affects this problem since I'm not a hardware cockpit user. Check for the latest FSUIPC full and interim versions here: http://forum.simflight.com/topic/66139-updated-modules/ There are some mentions of LUA fixes. In addition the fact that you have to activate the ident button for the transponder code points to perhaps a timing or method used in the controller, or a gauge problem in FS getting the panel state using the standard FS SDK interface coding. You can also try searching the FSUIPC forum here: http://forum.simflight.com/forum/30-fsuipc-support-pete-dowson-modules/
