November 29, 201213 yr What was your initial problem? Perhaps we can help. Thanks for the offer to help. Any time I use the PMDG NGX flying out of Auckland or Wellington using the ORBX NZ product, I was getting a 'failed to read from file' CTD soon after take off. I kept my autogen at 'normal', because with an 'extremely dense' setting in denser ORBX areas like KSEA, CYVR, YMML I was getting many random CTDs whenever I flew the NGX. I know PMDG uses ORBX for a lot of their testing, and I wanted to know if the PMDG product was the problem, or if it was something in ORBX. I really enjoy what ORBX has to offer, but I find it a bit frustrating that with such good computer specs, I can't get the most out of my product. Cheers! Luis, Get hold of your event viewer and view the CTD report. It will outline the Faulting module causing you grief. Then post your results in the AVSIM CTD forum. I had similar issues and Jim over there helped me out and I no longer get CTD's........Alot of the time you think it's because of a certain product you've installed when in fact it's not. My issue was a startup program leaking memory and a bad registry. I remove all any startup programs I don't need, clean and fix any registry issues, load up AS2012, TrackIR5 then FSX and it all works beautifully now. I have all the ORBX scenery, airports, NGX, T-Duke, Lancair Legacy and haven't had a CTD for a long time now. Jas Jaseman. Lovin it up here........ November 30, 201213 yr Luis If its a file error try reinstalling. If it is a ctd, it might be an out of memory error. You'll need the Microsoft memory reg file fix. Google 'Word Not Allowed memory fix fsx'. Soarbywire - Avionics Engineering
November 30, 201213 yr No problem mate. Good luck with it. I'm sure you'll be fine. As I said - Jim is pretty good and does a fair bit of research to assist. Jas Jaseman. Lovin it up here........ Catch us over at MassieSim32 -> https://discord.gg/B4buuHGhcr
December 1, 201213 yr Auckland CTD's? Try deactivating the following files: ADE_FTX_NZNI_NZHB.BGL ADE_FTX_NZNI_NZHB_CVX.bgl ADE_FTX_NZNI_NZHB_Objects.BGL in your \ORBX\FTX_NZ\FTX_NZNI_05_SCENERY\scenery folder. This is a known problem and is slated for the NZSI SP1.
December 26, 201213 yr Hi Rob, Just caught this thread as I was thinking of buying an ORBX product and am now backing off. I still don't understand how you started receiving support and then found difficulty gaining access to their site? Hope you got to work what you paid for and enjoy your simming which is what it's about! Briman Brian Newman
