Unable to capture screenshot

Featured Replies

Hi.

Since I re-installed FSX following an H/D failure, I now get the message "Unable to capture screenshot" whenever I press the "v" key to take a snapshot.

Anyone any ideas?

Thanks.

I've had this issue before, and I believe it was related to memory issues. I was running McPhat Studios textures, which my computer could not handle (even though it was meeting the minimum specifications). As a result, I experienced many black or gray textures on the aircraft and scenery, and could not take screen shots to show my problem.

This problem occurred with SP1. Did you install SP1 and SP2? (OR just Acceleration?). I'm thinking that when you reinstalled FSX you missed SP1.

Best regards,

Jim

Have you tried in Full Screen mode. I can only capture screenshots in full screen mode.

If you install Acceleration you don't need to install SP1 (and shold not install SP2) prior.

Uh, I knew that!. This error occurs without SP1 or sometimes with just SP1 installed. He does not indicate what is installed.

Sorry Jim. Just said it in case the OP didn't know that, not to offend your intelligence :)

Thanks chaps.

My installation is FSX De-Luxe edition, then Acceleration as a separate install. No, I didn't install any service pack 'cos Ithought that they were already included in Acceleration. Would it be safe to try installing them do you think?

Definitely don't install them, unless you uninstall ACC first!

Florian

What add-ons are you running when this error occurs, and what are your computer specifications?

Now this is strange: I needed the screenshots so's I could post on the PMDG forum about an issue I was having with the some textures on the 737NGX. however, the forum helped me to overcome that without the aid of a picture, but since then, my screenshots now work OK.

Thanks to everyone who took time to reply to my post.
