December 9, 201213 yr Alright, Im sure there's tons of posts the exact same on this forum but I'm trying to figure out the differences in P3D compared to FSX. Is it that P3D is more stable than FSX and doesn't have any CTD's / Is it a new simulator altogether? I know I can search the web for information and feedback but I want to hear from your experiences with P3D, and what are your opinions on it. Should I buy or not? Ciarán Andrews.
December 9, 201213 yr I'm not a P3D user yet, but the sense I get from my own review of the literature is that you are buying into something w/ a potentially more promising future, even if today's iteration, with its pros and cons, may well be a zero sum game. I'm holding out for version 2 which may offer more DX10 capability, maybe DX11, and hopefully other improvements which could make the difference between FSX and P3D an easier distinction than it is today. Actually, my dream upgrade will be when I build my Haswell machine w/ a SATA III SDD, 8gigs of the fasted ram I can find, a high end nV GPU, water cooling, and in it, P3D Version 2.x Yeah! I'm just hoping like heck I won't have to reinstall all of my FSX stuff until then, which appears to be maybe Q3 2013. December 9, 201213 yr This thread came up just a few days ago. http://forum.avsim.n...the-real-story/ It should feature some views, good and bad. Hoping it helps to catch a glimpse. I'm holding out for version 2 Same here. If it arrives, it should feature some significant changes. Well, it may also feature a need for reworked or even completely new addons. Speculation of mine.
December 9, 201213 yr Read Word Not Allowed's test: http://#####.wordpress.com/fsx-vs-p3d-performance-comparison/ With kind regards, Bart S.
December 9, 201213 yr My understanding is if you are using p3d and having fun, you must stop and uninstall it, that and you get 4096x4096 ground textures and can go underwater Regards; Fritz
December 9, 201213 yr Author Ok, thanks for the replies, guess I will hold back and wait for V2 of P3D.
