UPDATE

 

 

I posted this same topic over at X-plane.org and instead of asking sales to help me with this issue he issued a warning and deleted my thread and then banned me when in my response via private message I treatened to go to my bank for a refund.

 

 

 

 

I ordered x-plane 10 as a X-mas gift for a friend of mine from their store and I am really upset at this point over the customer service.

 

I ordered it on the 11th and I live in the eastern United states 20 miles from a major city I have no clue why I have not received it yet since I was never given a tracking number or even told WHAT company it shipped with. BTW two emails regarding this was ignored, but they managed to respond almost instantly when I questioned why my card was billed twice when I ordered it holding up my funds for four days..

 

Now I have to run out and find a alternate gift for my friend or tell him his present is coming late.

 

If this fails to get a response from them I am going to file with my credit card for a refund

for some reason I canot remove this topic or edit it..

 

I am in contact with them over at x-plane.org and it appears it's a post office error now I have a tracking number so I can try to resolve this.

 

Still if I had the tracking number a week ago when I asked I could have resolved this with the post office.

Mike wasn't sure if you wanted your personal info in a public forum so I hid the post with your address. Sorry you're having problems at the ORG. They are really good people and I'm sure they are doing what they can to help you.

 

 

This is depressing. Sorry the order didn't work. I hope it can be resolved. Wish it could have been sorted privately by email and without forum threads and bannings and unpleasantness like that.

 

X-Plane.org is a separate organisation to Laminar Research, who make X-Plane. They only sell X-Plane 10, they don't develop it. There are other legitimate vendors of XP10 - for example, X-Aviation.com: http://www.x-aviation.com/catalog/plane-p-80.html

 

X-Aviation have excellent customer service; they're renowned for it. They also have a growing community on their forums, including many who were outcast from X-Plane.org for various reasons, and are the home to many aircraft developers. I don't like their Terms of Service, which prohibit modifications to the aircraft they sell, though. It's especially regretful because they sell many excellent aircraft I'd like to tinker with (for my own personal use).

 

I hope you will be unbanned at the .org; there is a great community there, lots of expertise.

Steven, I think you have misunderstood what happended here. This was a GIFT for somebody else. I have x-plane 10 already. My friend likes to play it at my house so I bought him a copy as a GIFT.. That now did not arrive in time.

 

What i am upset about is the emails they did not respond to LAST WEEK. Had they responded with the tracking number as I asked for a week ago I might have been able to fix the post office error that caused this.

 

The 17-23rd of december are not holidays and I would like to think they checked there email during that period if they are taking peoples money.

 

Either way terrible experience from the extra 76 dollars that was held on my card for 4 days to the 2 ignored emails LAST WEEK, to the banning today and the non acknowledgement of anything by x-plane.org

My wife spent the entire day Christmas eve making candy, cookies, etc etc. She'll spend most of Christmas day there too, turkey, dressing, other incidentals for a major feast. She doesn't like me being in the kitchen, even to help. If I get too much underfoot, she'll find a new use for that frying pan.

 

My son and his wife are mostly off with her family. My friends and other familiy are scattered all over the US. So it's just me and the computer.

 

Right now, Avsim is my family. I kinda like it.

not a problem Steven. I used to be a admin of a large forum and sometimes you read so many topics they all turn into a blur.. either way I just watched the kids open presents and now I am off to visit my dad.. merry Christmas and happy new year

Thanks man.... Well it's up to him if he wants to unban me if not oh well as we all know there is ways around it. Think it's kind of sad that he IP banned me from the site for the pm I wrote him.. It was not even all that bad all I wrote was something along the lines of......

 

Wow not even a sorry for your inconvenience I will have sales look into it... then I went on to say that I will file for a refund with my bank on wendsday..

 

LOL that did not even get a response from him, it was only after I emailed him after I got banned that he finally gave me the tracking number and a rather rude " it looks like you gave us the wrong address" response...

 

In fact I gave them the correct address, same one that is on my drivers license. The problem was caused by the forward I had on my mail was not cancelled properly creating a mail loop.. Not the .org's problem but not my fault either and still does not excuse his banning me and ignoring my emails and overall poor customer support.

 

As I said before I really don't even care that much that it is late. My friend is a adult I told him he will get his gift in a few days. I am ###### over the ignored emails, banning and overall lack of caring on x-plane.org's end.

Thanks, I thought I removed my personal info.. Maybe they are normally really good and I am sure they are ###### I posted this and a similar topic over there but what else am I supposed to do with no tracking number, not answering my emails and the product is seriously overdue.

 

All he had to do was unban me and even pretend that he cares a bit and I would of asked for this topic to be removed, I am not asking for anything for free, or a discount all I am asking for that he at least acknowledge some fault in this for not answering my requests for a tracking number a week ago.

not surprised.. well there is other outlets to buy add-ons for x-plane, I am going to buy the crj next, right now I only have ga planes..

Finally got what I bought as a Christmas gift today..

 

BTW still banned over at the org.. sucks that I have to go there at all but thats where a lot of the airports and stuff for x-plane is uploaded. I guess I will just keep using a proxy to access.

Thanks for the link I am a member there, but sadly people still upload mostly to the .org I wish that people would upload to x-pilot.com instead.
