January 19, 201313 yr Hi guys I'd like to get more involved in air traffic control, and especially I'd like to know which is the best software in the market, in your opinion. The only ATC Simulators I know are: 1) ATC Simulator 2 HD - http://www.atcsimulator.com/ This one seems to be comprehensive and sophisticated, but a bot outdated in the UI. Here on AVSIM there is a deep review. 2) Tracon!2012 (ATC Suite) - http://www.atcsuite....dex_tracon.html This is new, but I have no red anything about. Anyone tried them out? any suggestion about others software? I know there are IVAO and VATSIM but I'd like to try something offline before going on-line :-) Many thanks Riccardo OS: Windows 10-64 bit, CPU: i7-7700K @4.20 GHz, GPU: Gigabyte GeForce GTX 1080 G1 8GB GDDR5, RAM: Corsair Vengeance DDR4 32GB 3000MHz, MB: MSI Z270
January 19, 201313 yr Interesting, I didn't know about the Tracon package. I used ATC2 many years ago and I believe there are issues with Windows 7, not sure if these have been solved or not. Last ATC package I used was VVX, I did some beta testing for them as they were going to enter the retail market but I believe they decided to stay strictly in the Commercial Training market, which is a pity, what they had was the only program that gave me shivers and caused a lot if sweat! I might have to check out Tracon. Will Reynolds Flight Sim Addict
January 20, 201313 yr Author Thanks Will for your reply. I think that ATCS2 solved problem with 7, infact is compatible with 7 and 8. But Tracon!2012 has just released and seems to be very promising, you can interface it with Tower!2011. If you try Tracon can report your opinions. Very appreciated. Thanks a lot. January 24, 201313 yr Author No one other tried out ATC simulator 2 hd or Tracon!2012? Riccardo OS: Windows 10-64 bit, CPU: i7-7700K @4.20 GHz, GPU: Gigabyte GeForce GTX 1080 G1 8GB GDDR5, RAM: Corsair Vengeance DDR4 32GB 3000MHz, MB: MSI Z270
January 25, 201313 yr www.londoncontrol.com for probably the best simulation of UK and European air traffic control. A lot of my controller buddies are aware of it and its pretty highly regarded Craig Harris 'NG Driver' for an airline whom shall not be named...
January 25, 201313 yr Author Thanks Craig but no one considered Tracon!2012 ? I don't know which one to buy between Tracon!2012 or Londoncontrol. Riccardo OS: Windows 10-64 bit, CPU: i7-7700K @4.20 GHz, GPU: Gigabyte GeForce GTX 1080 G1 8GB GDDR5, RAM: Corsair Vengeance DDR4 32GB 3000MHz, MB: MSI Z270
January 25, 201313 yr Riccardo, am doing an interview with the guys from Feelthere about their ATC program suite, hope it has some of the answers you need about that specific product, maybe it can help you decide of it is for you or not. Will Reynolds Flight Sim Addict
January 25, 201313 yr Author Riccardo, am doing an interview with the guys from Feelthere about their ATC program suite, hope it has some of the answers you need about that specific product, maybe it can help you decide of it is for you or not. Great news! Would be so kind to tell me where can I read it when done? Many thanks, Riccardo Riccardo OS: Windows 10-64 bit, CPU: i7-7700K @4.20 GHz, GPU: Gigabyte GeForce GTX 1080 G1 8GB GDDR5, RAM: Corsair Vengeance DDR4 32GB 3000MHz, MB: MSI Z270
January 25, 201313 yr Hi! This is a freeware, little bit old and not sure if voice recognition will work with anything else then XP, but have some Italian sectors done and pretty easy to build your own area or modify existing ones: http://www.acc.umu.se/~simsoft/download.php London Control is also a good choice if u want to control traffic in Europe and can also be used if you want to build your own sectors. Regards Johnny Johnny Holmgren
January 25, 201313 yr London Control also has add-ons: Scottish FIR (freeware) Amsterdam FIR (freeware) Germany, all airspace (payware) http://www.aviascan.de/en/index.htm
January 25, 201313 yr Author Thanks guys, very much appreciated. Riccardo OS: Windows 10-64 bit, CPU: i7-7700K @4.20 GHz, GPU: Gigabyte GeForce GTX 1080 G1 8GB GDDR5, RAM: Corsair Vengeance DDR4 32GB 3000MHz, MB: MSI Z270
January 25, 201313 yr Having read the Tracon 2012 discussions and watched all the available videos, it looks like a good simulation that takes into account SIDs and STARs, but one missing thing that I have not seen is whether the game supports GA aircraft. What made the old TRACON game nail-biting was the presence of pesky Cessnas and other slow aircraft clogging up the airways. Fram what I saw in the videos of TRACON 2012, all the aircraft are airliners, so allone has to do is occasionally slow down a fast-moving airliner so it does not overtake another one, but if the one in front were a GA aircraft at 90 knots, it would be a totally different story... January 25, 201313 yr Author Another questions....which type of voice is built into London Control and TRACON!2012? LC seems to have real voice, instead TRACON are text-to-speech voice. Can someone tell me more about LC pilot's voices? Riccardo OS: Windows 10-64 bit, CPU: i7-7700K @4.20 GHz, GPU: Gigabyte GeForce GTX 1080 G1 8GB GDDR5, RAM: Corsair Vengeance DDR4 32GB 3000MHz, MB: MSI Z270
January 26, 201313 yr Another questions....which type of voice is built into London Control and TRACON!2012? LC seems to have real voice, instead TRACON are text-to-speech voice. Can someone tell me more about LC pilot's voices? Take a look at the LC voice recognition features here: http://www.londoncontrol.com/voicerecog.htm Of all the ATC simulators I have, LC is the best regarding voice recognition and most realistic in pilot voices (not TTS). Furthermore LC is frequently updated with the latest AIRAC.
January 26, 201313 yr Author Furthermore LC is frequently updated with the latest AIRAC. Is there in LC a monthly AIRAC update? Last update seems to be May 2012..... Regarding voices, they are really real listening yt videos!!
