February 2, 201313 yr I haven't played Flight Simulator since 2011 and I still like planes. I have PMDG 747-400 and I have followed the start up procedures a little. But there's something wrong with the FMC. The Primary Flight Display is like buggy or maybe it's normal and I mostly worried about the Navigation Display, It isn't showing the IATA codes. YPAD to YMML. Did I miss something or there's a bug?
February 2, 201313 yr Your display appears to be on "APP" mode. You need to change it to "MAP" Brent Lewis
February 2, 201313 yr Welcome to AVSIM! The Primary Flight Display is like buggy Try adjusting the altimeter (start from 1013 hPa or 29.92 inHg). Your current setting is too low. I mostly worried about the Navigation Display Your display appears to be on "APP" mode. You need to change it to "MAP" Both of the above are usually controlled through the EFIS control panel. Here is an interactive reference. It isn't showing the IATA codes. ICAO codes are almost always used in "technical" commercial aviation operations (ATC, piloting, etc.). In any case, ensure that you are loading the aircraft properly. Do not set any complex aircraft for the FSX default flight.

Do not set any complex aircraft for the FSX default flight. I will explain this fully and I'm sorry I didn't explain it fully because I was in rush... Okay on the FMC, ( I set the IRS to ALign for L, C and R )... I got the IRS message to put the Ref Airport code. On the FMC and I was on POS INIT page. I set YPAD ( Adelaide Australia ) on Ref Airport code and I click GPS POS to copy the codes and paste it toSET IRS POS. When it was set, I went back to the overhead and switch IRS to NAV for L, C and R. The Primary Flight Display and the Navigation were functioning. I went back to the FMC and change page to RTE 1. I put YPAD on Origin and YMML on Destination. The Navigation didn't show me the flight roots and airports. Even I tried to set up the runway for Departure and Arrival. Still it didn't show me on the Navigation Display. It never happened on my Flight Simulator 2004 long time ago.
February 2, 201313 yr Again, why is your display on "APP" mode" you will NOT see your route in APP mode. Change it. The other poster even posted a picture. Brent Lewis

February 2, 201313 yr How can it be stuck? Did you right mouse click? Sorry, have not used the 744 for a while, but I do have it. Brent Lewis
February 2, 201313 yr Author How can it be stuck? Did you right mouse click? Sorry, have not used the 744 for a while, but I do have it. I found the problem I checked in the registry and the serial was missing... Mmmhmmm and now it's fixed The APP is no longer stuck. PROBLEM SOLVED
February 2, 201313 yr PMDG has their own support forum. But it sounds oftly fishy, did you purchase the product or download it illegally? Also you don't put the IRS knobs in anything but NAV mode. Then enter position. Also press B to reset altimeter. That's crazy it's set to negative 7 thousand feet!
February 2, 201313 yr Romer, Don't worry, Just because you had a problem don't think we all think you are a software pirate.
February 2, 201313 yr Romer, Don't worry, Just because you had a problem don't think we all think you are a software pirate. How would a legit software install need to have the "registration added to the registry?"
February 2, 201313 yr Registry corruption. Used one of those waste of time registry cleaners. Reinstalled Windows or ran a Repair install of Windows since 2011.
February 2, 201313 yr Commercial Member This is a registry fault that happens every now and then, nothing to do with piracy. Thankfully Jim chimed in before it turned into a witch hunt. Rob Prest
February 2, 201313 yr No, the FSX path sometimes gets corrupted. You never have to manually add the PMDG serial to the registry unless your install is pirated.
