February 3, 201313 yr Does anyone here find that these 2 default views in FSX are pretty much pointless? I can't even pan around whenever I'm in these views. February 3, 201313 yr Hi, No. These functions are quite useful in fact especially if you want to watch general airport or AI traffic at your airport of interest. I use it quite frequently when designing airport AFCADs to ensure AI are landing as they should. Some sceneries though I find do not have the Tower View correctly defined in the airport AFCAD so it can be problematic at times. FYI - Also, there is an FSX function which will alow to pan from the Control Tower. http://forum.avsim.net/tutorials/article/6-panning-in-tower-view/ Cheers Mark SpoilerSystem specs: MFG Crosswind pedals| ACE B747 yoke |Honeycomb Bravo throttleNow built: P3Dv5.3HF2: Intel i5-12600K @4.8Ghz | MSI Z690-A PRO | Asus Dual RTX 4070 Super OC 12Gb| 32Gb Corsair Vengeance LPX DDR4 3200Mhz |Samsung 980Evo Pro PCIe 500Gb | WD Black SN850 PCIe 2Tb | WD SA510 4Tb |beQuiet 802 Tower Case|Corsair RM850 PSU | Acer Predator X34P 3440x1440pMark AldridgeMSFS2024 SU5 & P3D v5.3 HF2
February 3, 201313 yr Author How is it useful if I can't even pan around to focus on a particular subject? For example, I'd like to use those views to monitor ai planes also, but if I can't even move around in order to view the planes, then it's not useful for me. Ever since I've been using fsx, I don't recall ever having these 2 views function properly at all. If I'm using tower view, then I'd expect for it to be able to let me pan around 360 degrees so I can view the entire radius around the airport but instead I'm stuck on some strange view that slowly moves to the left or right for no apparent reason. February 3, 201313 yr I dont use tower and runway view and i eliminated them using the cyclehidden entry. But this panning in tower view possibility seems interisting. I will definitely try it.
