February 3, 201313 yr I've beed searching for an answer to this one, but no solution. I always was able tose the parking brakes, now I can't. I have Saitek pedals, and current FSUIPC. On both the LD767 and PMDG737NGX the brakes won't set. Normal brakes work fine. On the LD767,when I click on the parking brake - nothing happens, on the 737NGX I get the sound of the brake lever clicking, the brake lights turns for a milisecond and goes off - without setting brakes. I am not sure if it is an FSX or FSUIPC. Any advice? (BTW added UT2 - really kills frame rates at airport with traffic set to 100%) Paul Paul Gugliotta
February 3, 201313 yr Commercial Member It sounds like the null zone on your toe brakes. Try to widen it a bit and then give the parking brake another test Rob Prest
February 3, 201313 yr Adjust the pedals so here is a null zone at the start of travel. I suspect the brakes are not entirely off and are tripping the parking brake. I usually keep my feet off the pedals when I set the brake. SkipperMac
February 4, 201313 yr Author I hoped that would be the solution. But I jus ttried and no matter what the null zone is on the brakes, they won't set. They quickly(split second) get released once set. Paul Gugliotta
February 4, 201313 yr If you push both rudders fully down, can you see the parking brake? I think I had to reverse my brake setting on my saitek pedals. Shaun OrtolanoTronAviation.com
February 5, 201313 yr Author No I don't see the parking barke when I push the ruddeer pedals down fully. I used to set them simply by clicking my mouse on the parking brake handle without stepping on the brakes. Stepping on the brakes would release them. For some reason, all of a sudden, I can't set them. On the LD767, clicking on the PB handle does nothing, on the PMDG737, you hear the brake release sound with a quick flash of the red light. It almost seems like when I click on the PB handle I am releasing them not setting them. I tried setting by pusing brakes down and then clicking PB handle, I tried the null zones - they simply can't be set. even CTL . doesn't work. They are indeed assigned in FSX. Paul Gugliotta
February 5, 201313 yr Just to make sure, does the parking brake work if you disconnect your control hardware? Jay Vorkapic
February 5, 201313 yr Does it also happen if you unassign the pedals? Could there be a calibration setting for the brakes in both FS and FSUIPC? Also, in FSUIPC I know there is a brakes threshold setting for the parking brake (can't remember the exact name and it might only be through the .ini) which I have used so that I have to push my brake pedals quite far before the PB will disengage.
