February 4, 201313 yr Just this morning I discovered this relative short flight from Vancouver BC to Squamish (CYSE). A wonderfully beautiful and short flight. Thank you Orbx
February 4, 201313 yr Wow—really wonderful clouds and terrain in the first image! I wonder whether there are similarly beautiful mountain-and-river combinations in Europe. I do not think the Alps look this green and lush!
February 5, 201313 yr Nice. ORBX is special, aren't they? These are the types of images that make me want to fly PNW. Dennis Trawick Screen Shot Forum Rules
February 5, 201313 yr Very nice! I wonder whether there are similarly beautiful mountain-and-river combinations in Europe. I do not think the Alps look this green and lush! Default terrain certainly doesn't look that good here in the Alps :( , but if ORBX would consider doing Austria, I'm sure it would look similar. Florian

I believe you recommended Aerosoft Innsbruck on another thread. Do you know whether it enhances the mountains in the area surrounding the airport?
February 5, 201313 yr Really nice pics :-) Dan George (woodhick)Check out Greenbrier Aero Club, the VA for and about the GA pilot.
February 5, 201313 yr I believe you recommended Aerosoft Innsbruck on another thread. Do you know whether it enhances the mountains in the area surrounding the airport? You're right, and yes it enhances the mountains around, actually even with photoscenery, but the covered area is rather small, just so that the final approach is covered (i.e. about 20nm to the East, and maybe 5 nm to the West of the airport). It also covers the mountains North(not really much, though) and South of Innsbruck, and it's a nice area for VFR flying, too, but as I said above, rather small, so it won't probabyl give you a long time of joy in VFR flights. However, if you fly larger aircraft (A320 family, 737s, the BAe 146 family or Turboprops liek ATRs and Dash7/8s) especially the instrument approach to RWY 08 coming in from the East can be very thrilling. So overall I do recommend it, jsut don't expect anything ORBX-like. Florian

Thanks for the information! The screen shots and videos on the Aerosoft web site look quite decent, but I wasn't sure how Innsbruck compares to newer releases such as those of FlyTampa and FSDT. jsut don't expect anything ORBX-like. Fortunately/unfortunately, I do not yet own any FTX products. I am, however, looking into FTX England as a complement to UK2000 EGKK.
