White textures when getting fog.

I don't use DX10 with FSX.. I'm trying other version of shader 3 and the result is the same... start to wonder if it's somehow incompatible with my Radeon HD68070... :|

And with all the testing I thing I messed up with the fog layers and I'm getting that nasty haze that makes a transparent white "curtain"! lol

I really think this weekend will FSX re-install time!

The latest version of Shader Model 3 MOD for Flight Simulator X was v1.6.

every time you make a change to this file you'll need to FLUSH the shader cache using the provided link to do so.

when you uninstalled the shader3 model did you check to see if the line in the [GRAPHICS] section => ALLOW_SHADER_30=1 was removed.

and did you see a recompile at fsx start up.

if you removed all the FXAA files then you should be back to shader2 model.

you could try and rename the ShadersHLSL folder and see if FSX will recompile a new one

I also had this issue after using a software from MogwaiSoft called Shade, bought at simmarket. It lets one edit the FSX color palette. The problem was had I used the option "Set and forget" for one palette preset without making sure what I was setting was 100% ok (apparently the fog color wasn't). So those palettes were permanently installed into FSX and uninstalling Shade didn't help.

Fortunately the author of Shade (mogwaisoft) includes a file with the original FSX (and FS9) palette presets so you can revert to the original state if you mess things up.

So I just reinstalled Shade again (because I had uninstalled it), installed each of the 10 FSX palette presets (FSX has 10 different day colors for each day) using the Shade_GUI - see the manual for this, then chose "Set and Forget". There, FSX fog at night was back to being dark.
