  1. I'm need of some help to try to fix my FSX without reinstalling everything... After updating FTX vector to v1.20 and the lanclass to 1.15, this is what happened here... Does anyone has any idea of what might be obviously very very wrong? Should I reinstall FTX Global, Vector, landclass and the orbxlibs again? Thanks Daniel
  2. Hey y'all I changed to DX-10 recently and there's a couple texture questions I have... First is the sky color at the sunset which seems too cartoonish in my system... What can I do to get it better? When I was with DX9, I had the FXAA changing the color tone and never saw this ugly sky! Secondly, I can I do to so this terrain image is not so blurry? System: i5 3570K @ 4.4GHz 8GB RAM ASUS GTX960 Strix I have REX, FTX Global, Vector and Landclass EU for textures. fsx.cfg [FACILITIES] COUNTRY=Denmark STATE= CITY=Copenhagen GTL_BUTTON=1232 [BufferPools] UsePools=0 [JOBSCHEDULER] AffinityMask=14 [USERINTERFACE] DisplayFuelAsWeight=1 Map_Orientation=2 OpenATCOnCreate=0 PageID=1 PAUSE_ON_LOST_FOCUS=0 PROMPT_ON_EXIT=1 SelectAircraftManufacturer=All SelectAircraftPublisher=All SelectAircraftType=All ShowAllACPaintSchemes=1 SHOW_MISSION_CAPTIONS=0 SITUATION=C:\Users\Daniel\Documents\Flight Simulator X Files\default [Graphics] See_Self=1 Text_Scroll=1 SHADER_CACHE_PRIMED_10=1693500672 SHADER_CACHE_PRIMED=1693500672 D3D10=1 TEXTURE_MAX_LOAD=1024 NUM_LIGHTS=8 AIRCRAFT_SHADOWS=1 AIRCRAFT_REFLECTIONS=1 COCKPIT_HIGH_LOD=1 LANDING_LIGHTS=1 AC_SELF_SHADOW=1 EFFECTS_QUALITY=2 GROUND_SHADOWS=0 TEXTURE_QUALITY=3 IMAGE_QUALITY=0 //ForceWindowedVsync=1 HIGHMEMFIX=1 MultiSamplesPerPixel=8 MultiSampleQuality=8 [Misc] Com_Rate=7 [Startup] LoadWindow=1 DEMO=0 SHOW_OPENING_SCREEN=1 STARTUP_DEMO= [Display] WideViewAspect=True ChangeTime=4.000000 TransitionTime=4.000000 ActiveWindowTitleTextColor=255,255,255 ActiveWindowTitleBackGroundColor=0,28,140,64 NonActiveWindowTitleTextColor=255,255,255 NonActiveWindowTitleBackGroundColor=24,33,87,64 InfoUpperRightTextColor=255,0,0 InfoUpperRightBackGroundColor=0,0,0,0 InfoLowerLeftTextColor=255,255,255 InfoLowerLeftBackGroundColor=255,0,0,128 InfoLowerRightTextColor=255,255,255 InfoLowerRightBackGroundColor=255,0,0,128 InfoBrakesEnable=False InfoParkingBrakesEnable=True InfoPauseEnable=False InfoSlewEnable=True InfoStallEnable=False InfoOverspeedEnable=False BLOOM_EFFECTS=0 SKINNED_ANIMATIONS=1 TEXTURE_BANDWIDTH_MULT=40 UPPER_FRAMERATE_LIMIT=0 [SOUND] UISound=1 AmbientUI=0 AmbientUIMusicVolume=-6.000000 PrimaryDevice={DEF00000-9C6D-47ED-AAF1-4DDA8F2B5C03} VoiceDevice={DEF00002-9C6D-47ED-AAF1-4DDA8F2B5C03} SOUND=1 SOUND_QUALITY=2 SOUND_LOD=0 SOUND_FADER1=0.800000 SOUND_FADER2=0.830000 SOUND_FADER3=0.500000 SOUND_FADER4=0.940000 AmbientUIMusic=FSX01 [Main] User Objects=Airplane, Helicopter SimObjectPaths.0=SimObjects\Airplanes SimObjectPaths.1=SimObjects\Rotorcraft SimObjectPaths.2=SimObjects\GroundVehicles SimObjectPaths.3=SimObjects\Boats SimObjectPaths.4=SimObjects\Animals SimObjectPaths.5=SimObjects\Misc ProcSpeed=17402 PerfBucket=7 HideMenuNormal=0 HideMenuFullscreen=1 FIBER_FRAME_TIME_FRACTION=0.23 //0.33 Location=440,130,1480,908,\\.\DISPLAY1 Maximized=2 [PANELS] IMAGE_QUALITY=1 DEFAULT_VIEW=0 QUICKTIPS=1 PANEL_OPACITY=100 PANEL_MASKING=1 PANEL_STRETCHING=1 UNITS_OF_MEASURE=1 [Weather] WindshieldPrecipitationEffects=1 MinGustTime=10 MaxGustTime=500 MinGustRampSpeed=1 MaxGustRampSpeed=200 MinVarTime=5 MaxVarTime=50 MinVarRampSpeed=10 MaxVarRampSpeed=75 TurbulenceScale=1.000000 WeatherServerAddress=fs2k.zone.com WeatherServerPort=80 WeatherGraphDataInDialog=0 AdjustForMagVarInDialog=1 DynamicWeather=0 DownloadWindsAloft=0 DisableTurbulence=0 CLOUD_DRAW_DISTANCE=6 DETAILED_CLOUDS=1 CLOUD_COVERAGE_DENSITY=8 THERMAL_VISUALS=0 [DISPLAY.Device.NVIDIA GeForce GTX 960.0] Mode=1024x768x32 Anisotropic=1 [AccelerationPack] ControlsFirstRun=0 HomePageFirstRun=0 [CONTROLS] Controls_Default=Standard Controls_Current=Standard KBDAIL=64 KBDELEV=64 KBDRUD=64 [TextInfo.1] Latitude=1,1 Longitude=1,2 Altitude=1,3 Heading=1,4 AirSpeed=1,5 WindDirectionAndSpeed=1,6 [TextInfo.2] FrameRate=1,1 LockedFrameRate=1,2 GForce=1,3 FuelPercentage=1,4 [TextInfo.3] Latitude=1,1 Longitude=1,2 Altitude=1,3 Heading=1,4 AirSpeed=1,5 WindDirectionAndSpeed=1,6 FrameRate=2,1 LockedFrameRate=2,2 GForce=2,3 FuelPercentage=2,4 [SlewTextInfo.1] Latitude=1,1 Longitude=1,2 Altitude=1,3 Heading=1,4 AirSpeed=1,5 [SlewTextInfo.2] FrameRate=1,1 LockedFrameRate=1,2 [SlewTextInfo.3] Latitude=1,1 Longitude=1,2 Altitude=1,3 Heading=1,4 AirSpeed=1,5 FrameRate=2,1 LockedFrameRate=2,2 [Trusted] ... 3. I know this kind of topic is already beaten to death, but... I have this old Radeon 6870HD graphic card which once in a while, when I remember, I always ask myself if this was a smart purchase as I had back then an Intel CPU (a Q9400 I guess) and now I still have an Intel CPU, but a i5 3570k OCed at 4.4GHz. From what I learned from past readings is that FSX likes Intel and Nvidia and one shouldn't do mixes with AMD cpus and gfx cards. If I change to a nvidia card, lets say a GTX 660, 660TI or 760 would I have any real gain in my FSX? <- there are far better cards, I know!! I really don't want to spend too much money with a possible gfx card swap, as the time goes by, I have less and less time to sit in front of the computer. Still, if any of those 3 cards would improve my experience comparing to what I have now, I might be whiling to give a couple hundred euros and lie to my wife when assembling the new parts! Regards, Daniel
  4. Hello everyone! If possible, could anyone explain me why I’m having OOM erros with my VAS (monitorized in process explorer) around 3900000KB (3.8GB)? Shouldn’t it happen after the 4GB mark? In my previous system, I remember the ding coming from FSUIPC when FSX was about to crash, but now I’m having OOM errors even before that. Really out of ideas here… I have Win7 x64 and installed that MS Fit it tool that changes 768 to 1024 in the sharedsection entry. Regards, Daniel
  5. Actually I didn't (and don't) have a FSX performance problem as you describe. My problem was a out dated Viatuali addon manager for my FSDT scenarios that was freezing my sim around the areas where I have their addons installed! If you have any FS Dream Team airport, try to update the addon manager or uninstall everything from FSDT and see what happens...
  6. 137 is into a stall? Lol! How can you say that without knowing the aircraft weight, the weather, his landing configuration, etc, etc, etc? Actually, the fmc indicates the vreff for the chosen landing flap configuration... so 155? What i could tell you about the 155 knots is that usually the speed for flaps 10... +- Sent from my LG-D802 using Tapatalk 2
  7. Sent from my LG-D802 using Tapatalk 2 Hi! Lemme just ask you this... How do you know that FSGRW wasn't even close and ASN was spot on? I ask you this, because in the day ASN was released, I went to my window, took some pictures and compared to what I was seeing on both FSGRW and ASN. FSGRW was spot on and ASN wasn't! :-)
  8. I had to switch to FSGRW eventually or I'd get an OOM before the end of the flight. I still was flying above overcast, but with a different type of clouds. The VAS eventually started to come down a little and now is on 3.2GB...
  9. I'm noticing a increase of VAS usage (maybe?)... I'm flying from KBOS to KLAS and although i'm not middle way yet, my VAS is at 3.5GB and increasing. I've flying over a constant overcast since I left Boston and lets see what how it turns out... Does anyone noticed some more VAS being consumed when flying above OC for hundreds of miles? could it be due to the type of clouds?
  10. No, not really... The only button I clicked was the one to set asn to reality settings or whatever it's called. Sent from my LG-D802 using Tapatalk 2
  11. Guys, can you point me a nice set of clouds lighter on fps than rex ones? I'm already with dtx5 1024 resolution, but as I pointed in a previous post, flying with the ngx I'm getting very low performance when flying into big packs of clouds. Although, if I'm inside of fog, the fps are normal... Sent from my HTC Desire using Tapatalk 2
  12. My aim was not asn, but opus! Sure asn has new features that the others weather providers doesn't have and we never saw before. I just found strange everyone comparing opus with asn and disregarding fsgrw, which in my opinion is a few good steps ahead of opus. I also have to report fps lost with asn. I notice it mainly when passing thru big conglomerates of culumbus clouds. And if inside a storm, I noticed to have lost around 10 fps or more with the ngx. It sure takes a toll on my system... :-\ Sent from my HTC Desire using Tapatalk 2
  13. I read this entire thread and all I saw is people comparing opus with asn.... I really can't believe that almost anyone here never tried fsgrw!!!!!? The only aspect where I see fsgrw looses out to asn is when updating the weather, fsgrw flickers the screen top for a second... other than that, I don't see a reason to change from fsgrw to asn! :-) Sent from my HTC Desire using Tapatalk 2
