February 16, 201313 yr I have this http://www.thaifligh...ewtopic&t=49048 freeware scenery for the old Banglol airport and it is very good, but my sim crashes when I try to fly out of the airport or when I try to switch to another airport. I know this is a problem with this scenery because I de activated the scenery and I don't hav any problems with the default scenery. Does anyone else have this problem with this scenery? I don't know what I need to fix it. I don't think the thaiflight forums can help me because I don't speak or read Thai.
February 16, 201313 yr Sounds like an Afcad problem to me. I'd run a check (ScanAFD) to identify any duplicates,
February 16, 201313 yr Author I looked for duplicate AFCADs and ScanAFD didn't find any. I also thought it was a AI problem (a bad texture maybe), so I de activated my AI but my sim still crashed. This problem is also effecting the nearby VTBS airport. When I am there my AI is blank then after a few minutes my sim freezes. I de activate VTBD and then VTBS runs fine.
February 16, 201313 yr Is the version of VTBS the freeware one or the payware one? I had a similar conflict with VTBD and the freeware version of VTBS but no conflict at all now that I am using the payware version.... They are both excellent sceneries though you have to do quite a bit of creative editing to get your AI traffic to go to the right places.... Cheers Ian
February 16, 201313 yr One item to check for when installing scenery is to see if they replace default APxxxxxx or AB xxxxxxx bgl files in that area. In modifying one they some times goof up other airports in the region expecially if both packages modify the AP file for that tiled area. Somewhere in the library there is a drawing of the tiles for each area. There is also a format to the AP and AB file names that gives the coordinates for each tile. The old default VTBD is in the tile indicated in the data below: Airport VTBD :N13:54:51.9695 E100:36:19.9996 9ft Country Name="Thailand" State Name="" City Name="Bangkok" Airport Name="Bangkok Intl" in file: Scenery\Asia\scenery\AP974270.BGL so was that file replaced in any of those VT installations.

Cheers Ian Yes I have the freeware version of VTBS for now. I am planning on getting the new payware version, just wasn't sure when. I am almost sure I didn't replace any default APxxxxxx or AB xxxxxxx bgl files. If I did replace them I have them all backed up. I will have to check and if I did replace them I will put back the original files and see what that does.
February 17, 201313 yr You may be able to figure out a solution, but all I can tell you is that when I tried to run the new VTBD freeware with the freeware VTBS I had the same problem you are having. As VTBD is by far the better scenery, my advice is to disable VTBS unless you are able to resolve the conflict. When you get the payware VTBS they will both work together just fine... Ian
February 18, 201313 yr What is the link to the freeware VTBS? I ask because I modified a scenery to properly add ILSs to it (using ADE) and I wonder if it is the same scenery consisting of an AF2_VTBS.bgl and a VTBS.bgl as the only files in the zip. The change was needed because in AFCAD ILs added are not in the FS Approach layer of an airport and in IMC conditions AI will not be allowed to use airport nor I believe allow the user to land in IMC. There is a thread in this forum and was completed on flightsim's FS9 forum.
February 18, 201313 yr OK ...now .. after reading all above I finally know the secret recipe of the thai soup  It seems to me it is very spicy

The VTBS scenery I am using is this one http://www.filestube...DlzPmECVb2I83yI (click on where it says "download now from Mediafire") Plus photo scenery from flightsim (vtbs_jt.zip) You may be able to figure out a solution, but all I can tell you is that when I tried to run the new VTBD freeware with the freeware VTBS I had the same problem you are having. Ian I see what I did wrong. I have the photoscenery for VTBS mentioned and it is installed all wrong. Although when I deactivated the VTBS the sim still crashed when I was at VTBD and tried to switch to another airport.
February 18, 201313 yr Author Sometime this week I will try a flight from VTBD to somewhere and see if the sim crashes. If it doesn't I will just not switch to another airport when I am at VTBD. (And I will be getting the new VTBS payware airport sometime next month. So I am not worried about that scenery.)
