On the official forum, there is a lot of discussion how STARs do not work correctly in the new version (they work in Europe, but not in the US). The problem seem to be that the transition part of the STAR gets ignored. It's very well explained on the support forum (and why it doesn't effect STARs in Europe). April 12, 201313 yr Hey 737NGX Pilots, How are you guys doing? I'm new to the seen a.k.a heavy noob.. I realized when reading this thread, made me wonder, Is Pro ATC X that bad? I've been using Pro ATC X for 2 weeks now.. didn't realize that it was "that bad"... My experiences : Did everything.. from initializing the Pro ATC X first, then after received clearance, entered the co route code (for me it is LOWILOWWCLR or EGKKEHAMCLR) After that, I will enter all the InitRef's (from dep to TO flaps) then it (FMC) would calculate my speed and alt accordingly to my flight plan (using VATroute via EFB). And the rest would do it's course... Assign SID/ vector, assign taxi ways before TO, and give vectors to intercept the LOC (ILS) and so on till I'm on the gates again. It does have it's moments when It (Pro ATC X) would make me decent way lower then a waypoint restriction alt... and one time, did all of the things you guys mentioned from 250 to 170, to 100 to 030 then up to 120??!! (later on I realized, after installing the latest AIRAC and did some mods on scenery and textures packages from avsim's library, I forgot to rebuild and align it again) I've watched vatsim tubes and Simpilots/ Real pilots like Frooglesim, musicalaviator, FSXpilot767, FS2004avationpro, skysurfer007, krsans78 and many more while they are on vatsim.. And I realize that there is (maybe) one thing missing in Pro ATC X or what I haven't experienced yet.... there is a HUGE difference as far as I know between " decent to FL......" and "decent to FL..... WHEN READY" So, what do I do when from FL250, the atc wants me to decent to 8000? I took it easy... changed the MCP FLT LVL just like it is planned in the FMC and let it do it's course.. I don't want to do a V/S -2000 just to make "her" happy lol.. and considered most of the decent instructions to be "WHEN READY"... un less "she" instructs me over and over again or below FL100, and "she" WILL do it, if "she" thinks its a must... I once learned this when the CMD struggle to get back to course due to 40-60 kts wind in a "S" type corner between 3 waypoints... "Austrian Air 780... turn right heading ....." switched HDG SEL got back in track, switched back to LNAV and "she" didn't say anything else till it was time for me to decent.. (which was quite odd... If I guy told you to run straight.. you'd run straight until you receive another order... right?) After watching tons and tons of tubes on 737NGX and others on FSX.. there is one thing that is a must in real flying and in Sims... and that is SANE CHECK (Captain's/ Pilot's insanity check)... that's what I think the heavy burden lies in real life pilots... I forgot where I got it from, but made me enjoy FSX even more... Anyways, that's my experience using Pro ATC x...
