February 18, 201313 yr I have just got my hands on PRO ATC X and have virtually no hair left! Could someone please explain how to import the saved PRO ATC X flightplan into the NGX CDU. There seems to be a major lack of information in the so called manual. Cheers fellas... This must be done only after opening ProATC and selecting your saved flight plan and selecting 'FLY NOW' and then go back to your cockpit and switch your COM1 frequency from ATIS. Then get your clearance from Clearance Delivery. J van E has a getting started tutorial in the FAQ thread over at ProATC Forum. Regards, Rick. Edit: Once you get things sorted you are gonna love it. It gets better every update. Rick Hobbs

Do I simply save and then forget it, in which case, where is the plan saved to? or do I have to right click on the flightplan at the top of the flightplan list and then select a type of file it has to be saved as? in which case what type of file does it need to be saved as and where is it saved to??? I hope this makes sense Rick, maybe I am making things too complicated.... I have found Jeroen's tutorials, but I feel I may be looking too hard at things and missing the obvious... February 19, 201313 yr Hi Howard, Create or import your flight plan, once fsx has started and NGX has done it's countdown thing right click on your flight plan in the list in ProATC and click fly. Then, when you are ready to ask for clearence switch channels and press 1, your flight plan will then be imported into NGX, use co plan to activate. You don't save the flight plan in the conventional way, ProATC does it automatically. February 19, 201313 yr Author Thanks Mike, OK, I'll follow your lead later. BTW how is it that the ATC window keeps disappearing after I have clicked an option? Please tell me this is not normal. I always fly with the ATC options open all the time on a separate monitor... BTW I have registered and posted over on the Pro ATC forum, but my post just disappeared! I'm just a little frustrated at the moment because it all looks a lot more complicated that I expected... (probably me!) February 19, 201313 yr I think that is how it works... at least on my system, once you have responded or requested an item the box closes down. I am stating this from memory, but I think if the window is left open it will not update.. I would like an option to auto open the window when a response is required.
February 19, 201313 yr Author Hmm, I'm becoming very disillusioned very fast here. OK, I have just gone back to the beginning and saved a fresh flightplan, but it is nowhere to be seen in the NGX flightplan folder, should this be the case???? I am still unable to find the saved plan when I access co route in the CDU, there's just nothing there.... I am still going round in circles here... In the list of saved flightplans, if I choose a flightplan and right click it, I am given the option to export the flightplan ?? Is this not so I can export it into the NGX flightplan folder which is then 'seen' in co routes?? In the CDU I enter PROATCX-CLR in the scratch pad, click on co routes (without entering any ICAO) and all I get is it's an invalid entry! OK fellas, it seems I have sorted it out! I was trying to find the flightplan prior to getting clearance, which has always been the first thing I do when I get into the cockpit. It looks like I will have to begin some new habits! February 19, 201313 yr Okay, first and foremost the flightplan will not become visible until you ask for clearence, once you have the reply from atc a file proatc will appear in co-route, this is the flightplan which you just filed, activate this and then open the map in ProATC, on the left side top you will see the details of your fp and just below the SID and runway you will be using (if you are using a weather engine such as Opus, this will determine the runway in use) insert the SID and runway as per norm and remove any discos a vola you are good to go. I use ProATC with FS2Crew and Opus, in which case I have the co-pilot options turned off, the only thing I use is the auto answer radio mesages. Feel free to contact me should you need any more info, contact details in usual place.. Oh I forgot to mention, once the flight plan has been used it is deleted from NGX, it is still in the ProATC list and can be used again and again, it's deleted from NGX as the fp al use the same name and would overwrite each other, also keeps things nice and neat. "In the CDU I enter PROATCX-CLR in the scratch pad, click on co routes (without entering any ICAO) and all I get is it's an invalid entry!" You can't do this, you must use the co-route to bring up the fp..:-) AMD Ryzen 7 3700X 4.2 32 gig ram, Nvidia RTX3060 12 gig, Intel 760 SSD M2 NVMe 512 gig, M2NVMe 1Tbt (OS) M2NVMe 2Tbt (MSFS) Crucial MX500 SSD (Backup OS). February 19, 201313 yr Howard. With regard to your preference of having the ATC menu visible at all times, try requesting it as an option in a future update over at the ProATC forum. You 'might' get your wish, because they really do listen to their customers. Regards, Rick Hobbs

Also, you say insert the SID as norm, but is this not generated automatically and installed along with the flightplan? Sorry if these are noob questions Mike, but I am not finding this particularly intuitive... cheers. February 19, 201313 yr hi howard, i couldnt get to grips with proatc at first,alpha117 has made some excellent tutorial videos you might want to look at, they helped me getting started now im enjoying using proatc. thank you,Jim MSI A520M-A PRO,AMD Ryzen 7 5700X3D 8 Core, 16 Threads 4.1Ghz,Arctic Freezer 36 ARGB Black Edition CPU Cooler,MSI VENTUS 2X Nvidia RTX 4070 12GB Graphics Card,Corsair 32GB Vengeance LPX (2x16GB) 3200Mhz DDR4 Memory,Gigabyte UD750GM 750W Gold Rated Modular PSU,Kingston NV3 2TB NVME M.2 GEN 4 SSD.
February 19, 201313 yr Author Thanks for the suggestion Jim.... well, i thought things were going too well. I've just had a CTD, luckily I run FSUIPC's autosave facility, so I just reloaded the saved flight, the only thing is, PRO ATC could not be accessed via button 1 on the keyboard, even though the UI said the flightplan was still active. Has anyone any idea how I get back to where I left off when using an autosaved flight? cheers...
