Boeing 777... $$$$

Not too bad, I got the base pack on their sale, but still I am a little disappointed...

That not too bad will turn in to huge disappointment when you realize the money spent could have been used somewhere else.

It's ok at least until PMDG 777 is out so I don't feel any disappointment. The plane model is perfect. System bugs are mostly fixed now.
Need your help guys.. with Captain Sim 777-200/300 and how to set up a 2D panel like the JB777 Panel.

I know some will say, it’s better to use VC and I respect this feeling, but I like a 2D panel and the JB777 one is clear.. When you get a little older you need a clear panel..

The product version is now 1.000 and this is the version I have and also there two versions Captain_Sim.x773.sys.gau & Captain_Sim.x777.sys.gau, I can get the under carriage to show up but not make rudder or flaps work..

Anyway.. If anyone out in the big FSX AVSIM world has done, please let me know how to fix.

Cheers

Bobj
Hi, Bobjuk,

You can alias your existing JB panel to the Captain Sim, or you can copy the entire JB panel into a Captain Sim aircraft's panel folder, but if you do you will no longer be using the Captain Sim panel and gauges. Be sure to back up the panel folder of any Captain Sim 777 you try this with or you may wipe out the Captain Sim panel and have to reinstall the whole aircraft to get it back. However you should get a working 2D panel; how the Captain Sim aircraft will fly with the JB panel would be a very interesting experiment!

The JB panel does have VC gauges, but the gauges are unlikely to display properly in the Captain Sim VC. I suggest that instead you use the Opensky or Skyspirit aircraft with the JB panel. The panel was designed for those aircraft. The Opensky and Skypirit 777s fly quite well. They are also free.

The fix for non-working flight controls with the CS 777 is discussed in this topic, especially in the video:

http://forum.avsim.net/topic/401130-need-a-startup-tutorial-for-cs-777-10/#entry2609759

It may no longer be a problem with the just-released version 1.1 -- I haven't tried it yet.

I'm very happy with the CS777. No problems.

Hi Mike,

Thanks for the feedback.. I was hoping I could do away with the CS VC and just have the JB panel.. so far easier just to jump in and fly.. I know you need to and the CS special gages to the panels config.. there are lots of docs about this on CS's forum but seems for an older version.. by the way 1.1 does not help..

You may be right, better to go for Opensky or Skyspirit and in-fact I was using.. but went for the CS 777 when there had a special offer at $9.99.. so not a great overhead..

If anyone knows how to get rid of the CS VC so the JB panel just works it would be a great help..

Once again.. Thanks Mike..

Cheers

Johnny,

Just wait till the PMDG 777 comes out, it will be money well spent.

Did you stop and think before posting that? when people are looking to buy something, how bad is it that you tell them, there are "No problems"

You do not have to look far to see how disleading your comments are.

Based on his comments, he appears to not be very observant, or is blatanly ignoring the problems with the product. I have thousands of hours in FSX and I own a massive mount of add-on aircraft (only a select group are installed) and I can say from experience that this product needs a few things to be addressed before it might earn a place in my FSX hangar. My FSX installation is stable, the aircraft was installed as an Administrator, and I have no issues with other aircraft. The manuals are unfinished as of yet, so that makes it worse for people who don't have a lot of experience to carry over from other Boeing simulations.

Hi, Bobjuk,

To completely eliminate the CS VC, go into the folder of the aircraft you want to modify and look for the folder called model.200LR_GE (for the -200LR), or model.200ER_PW (for the 200ER PW version) or model.200ER_GE (for the 200ER GE version). Inside that folder open the model.cfg file (a simple text file). You will see an entry that starts with:

interior=

If you put two slashes in front of this entry, the VC will no longer be present:

//interior=

If you later want to switch back, just delete the two slashes.

For the PAX model you probably don't want to make this change, as in that aircraft there is no VC cockpit; instead the VC is used for the cabin. So if you get the JB panel working, you can fly in normal cockpit with the JB panel and switch to the VC cockpit to stroll around the cabin.

Hi Mike,

That works thank you, but the only problem is rudder and flaps then don't work.. as you cannot turn them on.. seems a right pain.. all I wish is to use the JB panel with CS 777-200/300 so how hard can it be.. I know there are some posts on the CS forums regarding the same problem.. so I was hoping there was also a post on this at AVSIM... as I guess I'm not the only one using CS777 and also word like to use a 2D panel.. the CS757 has a 2D panel.. PMDG 737 also has a 2D panel.. and I have both.. CS767 also has 2D and I have this also.. so I'm I asking too much..

I hope some one knows how to make this work without having to flick from 2D to VC and then back to 2D.. just need it to start with "Ctrl E" and fly..

Cheers

Well, no signs of PMDG 777. So I'm kinda getting a bit impatient to fly the 777-300. And, though I know per developer that CS 777 is not fully complete, I have a difficult time understanding how extremely

overpriced is CS 777-300. One would have to pay over $80.00 U.S for the 777-300. What? That's way too much. What are they thinking?

I own the CS777. The plane is beautiful in and out, but CS can't seem to perfect the systems. Wait for version 1.2 as the current 1.1 is certainly usable but needs work in several systems. CS usually takes about a month between versions and 1.1 was just released. One of these months PMDG will release theirs and their focus is the systems. Remember, patience is a virtue!
