March 4, 201313 yr Ahhhh... my first XP CTD... I downloaded some scenery ( I think photoscenery) from simHeaven and was able to load on the runway but on takeoff I received this CTD and error. Any ideas on how to fix it? I've downloaded a few of these sceneries and I got LAX area working... it's FAR better than stock scenery. You get the photoscenery background with some scattered autogen (sometimes it lines up with the scenery other times not close hehe), but it does look decent. I suppose it would be similar to MegaScenery X Socal for FSX. | My Liveries | FAA ZMP | PPL ASEL | | Windows 11 | MSI Z690 Tomahawk | 12700K 4.7GHz | MSI RTX 4080 | 64GB 6000 MHz DDR5 | 500GB Samsung 860 Evo SSD | 2x 2TB Samsung 970 Evo M.2 | EVGA 850W Gold | Corsair 5000X | HP G2 (VR) / LG 27" 1440p |
March 4, 201313 yr sounds like a RAM issue.... KERNELBASE.dll is the culprit that caused the error. Quite possibly the scenery is not loading into the memory like it should. Try flying your new scenery again, maybe 2-3 more times .... start with the same aircraft that you were in, then switch it up to different DEFAULT aircraft to make sure that it really is something to do with the scenery. Then Turn off the scenery, but do not delete it (uncheck it in the library) and fly the area 1 more time. 1) if it crashes with all aircraft its the scenery. 2) if you still keep getting the crashes WITH the scenery ON, but not when the scenery is off.... sorry to say it, uninstall the scenery. you can try to reinstall the scenery to see if it fixes itself, but that will be up to you. If it is a RAM issue, depending on how old your computer is, and what your specs are (i didn't check them) you might have to buy some new Ram.
March 5, 201313 yr Author I doubt it's the system (specs on side bar). Probably just something random and impossible to track down. I'll just try it again. | My Liveries | FAA ZMP | PPL ASEL | | Windows 11 | MSI Z690 Tomahawk | 12700K 4.7GHz | MSI RTX 4080 | 64GB 6000 MHz DDR5 | 500GB Samsung 860 Evo SSD | 2x 2TB Samsung 970 Evo M.2 | EVGA 850W Gold | Corsair 5000X | HP G2 (VR) / LG 27" 1440p |
March 5, 201313 yr incompatible addons caused the ctd, xp10 hasn't crashed on me since  Never  Even FSX on my PC hasn't crashed on me since Fall 2012(my last fsx fresh install)
March 5, 201313 yr Probably just something random and impossible to track down Hi Ryan, I doubt that's the case. Your crash log should point to the culprit, it usually does.
March 5, 201313 yr Then Turn off the scenery, but do not delete it (uncheck it in the library) and fly the area 1 more time. So... uh... how do you uncheck a scenery in the library in X-Plane? March 5, 201313 yr So... uh... how do you uncheck a scenery in the library in X-Plane? Give X-AddonManager a try: https://code.google..../xaddonmanager/ This is a neat little program that helps manage (disable/enable) Aircraft, Scenery and plug-in's. Works with Win, Linux and Mac.
