FSX hibernates computer - please help to find a solution

PieEater: It doesn`t seem to be overheating problem, currently running Prime95, all 4 cores running at 100 per cent and the temperatures have been in low 60s (celsius) since the beginning of the test...

I will try to monitor the temperatures when flying in FS, anyway.

Do you get the same problem if you only run FSX with no addons?

You mean vanilla installation, or without those supporting software (RC, UT2, etc...?).

What about the GPU settings control panel, can you try a default setup for FSX. Also, yes, it may be worth trying a flight with no addons just a stock plane and scenery.

What GPU settings do you mean? I use nvidia inspector...

Right click on the desktop and choose NVIDIA Control Panel -> Manage 3D settings -> 1. Select a program, choose MS FSX -> Press Restore. This makes sure the default setup is in place.

Becuase it's random I'm wandering if this could be a thermal issue causing your computer to shut down rather than a hibernation power setting.

If I had to guess, I'd say probably not. I know the original post was started in 2013, but I'm noticing this on Windows 10 with FSX. I don't think the computer is shutting down because when I turn it back on, every program that was running prior to the computer going off is still up, which is what hibernate mode will typically do.

In that case why bring it back after four years and reply to PieEater who hasn't logged into Avsim in over two years.

If you have issue with hibernation or other computer issues we can start a new topic.
