March 25, 201313 yr The NGX is the only airliner payware I have at the moment If you're bored with the NGX get the MD11 while it's on sale... It's a pretty fun airplane. i7-6700K @ 4.5 GHz, 16 GB DDR4-2400 MHz, GTX 1070 8GB
March 25, 201313 yr I'd love it if they would allow you to set up for full approaches...select the IAF. I agree. I would love to see FS Instant Approach have a database that can be updated through NavData Pro, that would give the option to put the full updated STAR routes for every airport into the approaches. That way you could go straight to the STAR transition and fly the full STAR to the ILS and it would put you on the correct altitude to enter the STAR. FS Instant Approach does not replace the realism of flying the full route, but it does give you the chance to make your approach and landing when you don't have as much time. Also it gives an opportunity to perfect your approach and landing techniques since you will do so many more landings by cutting out the long cruise time. Lately I have done a lot of CS707 flying with the CIVA INS. The INS nav keeps you fairly busy, but not so busy that it becomes more of a nuisance than anything else. At cruise speeds, you will find yourself doing a DME update every 30 to 45 minutes, and if you update waypoints by hand, you will have to do that two or three times per flight. And the best part is that the INS is free! I also love the CS707 with the CIVA. Flying the CIVA or radio navigation will keep you very busy and is much more challenging. Sometimes I will do that for quite a while before returning to the NGX or other aircraft with flight computers. Robert Yunque
March 25, 201313 yr Yeah, the CIVA INS rocks, I use it in Concorde X and the Tinmouse (although I very rarely fly the Tinmouse) vatsim s3
March 25, 201313 yr Would say buy an A2A aircraft as these things immerse you into how they are behaving at any one time and the persistence between flights is strangely addictive, it becomes your aircraft.
March 25, 201313 yr These things would be quite a bit more interesting if they had maintenance schedules, accumulated systems wear and tear...stuff like that. As the tutorial points out, a pilot has to review all of the outages on the airplane during before accepting the flight. Doesn't mean (necessarily) that he won't fly it. It *might* mean that the ground crew says something like, we need another 10 minutes to finish maintenance on X. It gives each flight a personality. Could be something put into FS2Crew...if someone puts the flaps down a few knots to early on the previous flight...a little annoyance.
