My P40 isn`t working anymore.

After reinstalling my compelte MSFlight installtion I managed to get everything working again, except the P40.

Via the Add-On Manager yo can`t install or deinstall it.

It shows as installed, but it isn`t showing up in the game.

Very strange.  I have someone else reporting something similar.  Can you send me the contents of your:

"%programfiles(x86)%\Microsoft Games\Microsoft Flight\FileLocator.config"

and

"%localappdata%\Microsoft\XLive\DLC\4d5308d2\00000002\FileLocator.config"

 

Can you also look in "%localappdata%\Microsoft\XLive\DLC\4d5308d2\00000002\4474540481d064a2637e3c596d960ee101256722" and see if the modified date on any of the files has changed to someone later than 2012?

I can, but I don't want to be bombarded by requests.  I'd also like to see that the quality of the stuff on there remains high.  Perhaps we can start a monthly or twice monthly poll, with a few livery options and the winner gets added to the list.  We would need to find something similar for adding community aerocaches as well once that is possible.

Initially I'd assumed this was a server related issue,

or as a result of my playing.   :BigGrin:

 

 

 

I'd been intending PM'ing you,

had been investigating meantime,

but seeing others have since reported......

 

 

 

IIRC,

For the cockpit-less aircraft -

- I had only purchased the C-46.

- I had downloaded the remainder's multiplayer placeholders.

 

 

 

I hadn't used FLIGHT for a while,

but since you'd released another Toolkit version,

thought I'd have a play.

 

 

 

On visiting FLIGHT's Hangar,

none of my 'cockpit-less multiplayer placeholders' are being displayed,

excepting

those for which I'd installed 3rd party repaints,

of which

only those 3rd party repaints display, (missing their original MS versions).

 

Missing only MS's default paints for -

- North American P-51 Mustang, EDIT - Merged into P-51 Redtails freebie.

- P-40

 

Missing all versions of -

- Mitsubishi A6M2 Zero
- F4U

Really strange.  I'm not sure how any of the stuff the Toolkit is doing can affect official DLC installations.  Do you know if you uninstall the toolkit if you get access to those default liveries for the P-40, etc again?

Your problems are similar to what I have heard from a few people, I am just really unsure of what is causing it.  So the Flight toolkit has nothing to do with any of the default installed DLC.  It shouldn't be changing how Flight loads them.

 

AddonConfiguration.xml isn't being read by anything at the moment.  It will be read by GFWL replacement in the future.  I just thought of one other piece of data that might be useful, can you check the ContentErrors.log after running Flight and see if it says anything? (should be in %appdata%\Microsoft\Flight\ContentErrors.log, or something similar)

Hi, stonelance. Thanks for all your work on Flight Toolkit to ensure the future of MS Flight.

I wanted to try the new profile backup feature for my two copies of Flight (two different machines and two GFWL users). Where does Flight Toolkit save the local copy of the profile data on my Windows 7 machine? I see the green indicator in AddonManager, but I can't find the profile data file. I'd like to make my own second backup of that profile data to save along with my other Flight files and Free Flight saves.

@samtx: The data is stored under your Application Data folder - Local - GFWL and then inside your corresponding profile folder.
