Where can I find lower trees for FSX ?

Featured Replies

Hi folk !

Where can I find and download a lower autogen tree set for FSX, because default trees too tall ? I remember it was for FS9, but make it someone for FSX or contain such a payware software if there is not a freeware ?

Thanks !

I don't think there is one for FSX. I remember the FS9 ones were smaller images on the texture to display them smaller, but with FSX, you have many more different trees types.

I wonder why this hasn't changed yet  :Rolling Eyes:.
I personally think it would look quite nice if the trees were shorter.

Yeah smaller trees would definitely improve the sim. I thought the smaller trees used in MS Flight gave it a much more realistic look when compared to Fsx.

I haven't tried it, but there's the Genreloaded trees on flightsim.com: http://www.flightsim.com/vbfs/fslib.php?do=copyright&fid=111364

I compared this texture set to the default one, and it looks exactly the same, just Genreloaded trees are at the lower resolution.

Didn't checked the palms, but still for Europe it is a pointless download.

Anyway, Aime Leclercq rework of all seasons terrain textures is a spot on, trees colors are spot on for his a bit darker terrain textures.

I use this seasonal texture sets about 3 weeks ago, and I am very happy with it. I like it more, than GEX, I dont understand why. May be not as boring than GEX, more varied, especially in Europe. This  seems more realistic to me.

Weren't trees, houses, and buildings intentionally oversized by Microsoft to cut down on the sheer number of polygons required to render city and urban neighborhoods?  Cars always look too small compared to trees and other autogen objects.

It would be nice if a scaling factor could be set in some appropriate config file to control their size.

Definately would look better if trees and houses were scaled correctly to vehicles..  some programmer may come up with a script to rescale, but then there is the issue of each object would also have to be replaced else city scapes would become less dense.... or does auto gen just auto pack itself into a given area?
