It looks like the FS9 patch will also improve the water textures!

Can somebody post a link to pics?I can't find em'.:) Claudio

Hey Chris - While you're on this thread, you don't suppose they'll 'fix' the no-overcast clouds issue (when flying above) do you? How is FSSky 2004 coming along? Many thanks and Best RegardsBoone,[email protected]"Flying a plane is no different from riding a bicycle. It's just a lot harder to put baseball cards in the spokes."

@Chris WillisHi Chris,I do not think the different water colours can be simply explained with lighting effects. The water colours on the left hand shots are the typical 2 colours I get with water detail set to the middle (I only get those 2 textures with this setting) and I can't remember to have seen the darker texture of those 2 when having the setting fully at the right.Whereas the water colour on the right looks unfammiliar to me, it could be that you get it with water details set to the right, but I doubt it. And still, if the "after-water-texture" is one, you get see, when setting the details slider fully to the right, it would be not very serious, that MS (or flightsim.com?) uses water details set to "low" for the before-shots and water details set to "high" for the after-shots. Y'know, if we can all just somehow, someway manage to get through another 2 or 3 weeks without our heads exploding with anticipation, I think we'll all know the truth about the great FS9 patch water texture mystery...

It would be great if MS did something to address the radical wind shifts as Paragon mentioned. Not speculation. Just hoping MS will see this and decide to fix it as well. }( Other than that...fantastic product. IMO the best entertainment one can get for fractions of a cent per hour. Thanks MS!Adam

I bet whoever was taking the screens was playing around with water textures and forgot to restore the defaults. Either way, if it isn't mentioned specifically, it isn't getting changed.

Finally I saw the pics!:9 My two cents: The water does look worse on the after pictures. Less natural. But who cares? MS would never reach the quality level of the freeware and payware packages out now. If the would be serious about water they would have to change the whole water engine.I hope they adress the water in FS2006 and make a big update and water aircraft that behave realisticly (not glue on the water and after a certain amount of power rocket away). IMO water isn't simulated at all in fs2004 it's so bad. It is just a plain blue surface with silly effects (I turned them off). They wanted to give us eye candy and failed there too.Claudio

I'm with Chris too. Yes, the glass is half full rather than half empty, if you get my meaning. I applaude MSFS for taking the time to release this update.

Skol! Cheers! Or "Prost" as we say! :-beerchugWolfgang :-lol
