September 26, 200421 yr Dear Tom,From time to time both you and I have had a difference of opinion on certain matters, however that is what makes the world go around, as no two individuals think alike on any given subject.Saying that, I would like to publicly thank you for all your efforts with AVSIM, and the Flight Simming community. You have gathered together a great staff, erected a web site which so awesomely serves this community with what it has to offer, and I really doubt if you have done anything more than
September 26, 200421 yr "I for one know that if AVSIM was NOT available, my enjoyment of Flight Simulator would be, oh, so much less, than it is now."Same for me, Clayton. Many Thanks Tom and crew....
September 26, 200421 yr Amen to all of the above. Each day following my sitdown at the computer, the very first thing is to visit this site and its forums. It's like reading the morning newspaper. I don't know how I would fare without my AVSIM "fix". :-)Larry S.

September 26, 200421 yr Thank you Clay and all. The forty or so members of AVSIM's staff get a lot of reward out of what we do. And no more a reward could have been given than to see the faces of those that had just completed their time in the UAL TC sims last week. To watch a father and son do three hours in the sims and share those special moments was worth every bit of it.To read messages like yours Clay makes it all worthwhile. Thanks!
September 26, 200421 yr I'll add my vote of thanks and confidence here as well. I don't always agree with Tom and some of the staff, but I have great respect and admiration for all who make Avsim the very best in the hobby. You all make our simming experience far better than we could have ever hoped when we each purchased out first flight sim.Kudos to you all,Greg
September 27, 200421 yr I would like to say that until I found AVSIM I had no idea what was possible with FS2002 or FS2004. Being able to access the thousands of various files to enrich the experience(at high speeds I must add) from a site that is free for all makes AVSIM the gem of the internet. Without it I dont know what I would do. I too must have my AVSIM fix daily and compare going without it to starting my day without coffee......AINT going to happen.....or someone's going to get hurt. So thanks to you Tom and your staff at AVSIM for doing a wonderfull job. Personally I feel no other site has done for Microsoft what you have done for their product, so no wonder they picked the avsim convention for the big anouncement. Apparently Microsoft is paying attn after all.Thank you AVSIM:-beerchug Don
September 27, 200421 yr You wrote it better than I ever could Clayton.... Many thanks from here as well Tom...Regards,John
September 27, 200421 yr Here, here Clayton. I too add my most grateful thanks to all the team at AVSIM, I have learned much here. It is surely what the WWW is all about, it enriches the life of every simmer who enter it's portals and who knows how many similar, other language, sites it may have spawned over the years. It is also part of my daily fix!Best regardsTony
September 27, 200421 yr Thanks guys for starting this thread. It reminded me of the fact that I want to thank all the guys and gals at Avsim for all the help and enjoyment they have added to my life since I started simin' a few years ago. I read the new files and forums for MSFS, FLYII and Flight Unlimited every day. It is how I get started every morning.I started simin about 7 years ago. My health started going down hillwithin a year (not because of simin but age and life). I had a heart attack, 2 years later had surgery with severe hemmoraging, and last year on the 4th of July I had a lung transplant. Avsim was there each time to help me through it all. Of course, ******* Christ and the doctors at UAB Birmingham, AL USA healed me but Avsim and contributors kept me entertained. THANK YOU ALLThank you folks and thank you contributors. I'm sure I would have tired of the hobby long ago if it were not for this web site and all all you contributors.God bless each one,Earl
September 27, 200421 yr oh golly gosh durnit!, you people are making me get all misty in the office here, but for SURE my humble thanks are added for the world of joy, both in terms of simming fun and realworld relevance this site provides - almost no day goes by without several stops at Avsim.Well done and thank you again:)Best regards,Mark Regards, Mark
September 27, 200421 yr I have been around since the infancy days of Avsim and also remember the heady days of Pro Pilot, Flight unlimited etc as well as the not so nice flame wars and forum hooliganism that were rife back then. There must have been many times when Tom must have felt like chucking it all in.I also remember the characters good and bad and especially the bravery of Richard Harvey.Tom often had to operate under difficult circumstances with his team and again one thinks of 9/11 and the major impact that had on all walks of aviation.Nowadays the forums seem very organised and placid compared to times past. Maybe partly due to the fact that simming revolves around one platform nowadays but also because Tom and his crew have worked hard to create an invironment where all people can visit in comfort. My congratualtions Tom and your team for Bringing Avsim to where it is today.Peter
September 27, 200421 yr Hello All, again.First, thanks for all of you joining in, and thanks Tom for your nice reply. I believe all who know me, understand that I just call em as I see em. Good or bad, popular or not. After much thought I just wanted Tom and his staff to know that I, myself, and obviously, many more who have echoed my thoughts, do really appreciate his labor and efforts to make OUR hobby a much more enlightning experience.Without the Tom A's of this world, and espicially in our 'little FS world' FS9 and all of its earlier models would just be so much of a game . . . and not the experience that it is today.Saying thanks, and that we appreciate your efforts takes very little time and cost us nothing . . . a bargin at one million times the price.Best to all, and espicially to all the friends whom I have made on this and other forums of our hobby. We're a great lot, we are . . . and all share the common love of aviation.Clay (no titles this time, just plain ole Clay)
September 27, 200421 yr And I thought I was the only one who checked AVSIM first thing in the morning and last thing at night! Many, many thanks TOM & STAFF!!!!Frank Bevard
