April 19, 201313 yr I just purchased the 737NG-X a few days ago but I will be building a new system in a month or two. How many times can my activation key me used and if I use it more than the times allowed do I have to spend $100 again or can I simply request new ones (because Im probably gonna have to re-install more than once knowing my luck with computers) I can't wait for everyone to flock to the 777... I want my 737 back to myself! Brian Meyers
April 19, 201313 yr Buy the extended download service for $4.99. Gives you unlimited downloads on same IP address for the first year. However, after a few downloads too many, you may have to contact customer support to continue downloading. Better is to save the .exe file as a backup then you can use that file, unzipped, with the key to redownload. Their support, BTW, is second to none.

From what I understood, he's not asking about re-download, but about how many times he can reinstall the airplane. I believe there's no limitation of reinstalls. I've reinstalled it myself a dozen of times. You can't, of course, have the airplane installed in 10 different computers at the same time, even because the EULA only allows for two simultaneous instalations, but you can only use one copy at a time. From what I've heard, when you unninstall a previous installation, the counter gets reset in PMDG's records, allowing you to install it again on another machine. If you ever get a message saying you've reached the limit, just get in contact with PMDG and explaing your situation. Matheus Mafra

April 19, 201313 yr No, it does not reset if you re-install it. I said it gets reset when you uninstall. If you had installed the plane once, the counter would register one installation. Uninstall it and the number goes back to zero. Reinstall it and the number goes up to one again. I thought it was already implicit that when you reinstall, the counter goes back up. Matheus Mafra
April 19, 201313 yr Author Yeah I'm gonna back up my downloads for the aircraft on 2 HDDs and 2 Flash Drives, aint no way Im losing those xD I can't wait for everyone to flock to the 777... I want my 737 back to myself! Brian Meyers
April 19, 201313 yr Commercial Member Uninstalling the plane does not reset the counter to zero. I don't need an active internet connection to uninstall the plane, and without that active connection, the registration server would never know. Whoever told you that needs to check their facts. The registration server is looking for anomalies that look like piracy. Chances are, you're not going to install the plane 12 times in a day, so it'll pick up on that. I'm not sure how they've set up their server to pick up on piracy-type activity, but it'll see an installation and then an installation a year later as normal. People re-image, and computers have problems, so it's a normal expectation to see products get re-activated from time to time. Kyle Rodgers
April 19, 201313 yr Their support, BTW, is second to none. Correct. I'm no suck-up, but this is 100% true.

I remeber hearing that from Ryan himself, but I could have misinterpreted what he said or maybe I'm forgetting where I actually saw it. Matheus Mafra

Again, there's no communication when the product is uninstalled, so how does it know? It doesn't. You probably saw someone say that they can reset the number if the customer runs into the max registrations issue. That's an entirely different process. Kyle Rodgers
