Bucket List

Finally, I can check one item off my personal Bucket List...

I managed to deliver a 24 ton load of coal to Newcastle. Well, it was really crushed rock, but that doesn't sound nearly as poetic... :LMAO:

The sim is European Truck Simulator 2, and I just wish that FSX's scenery looked half as good as ETS2's. :Tounge:

How long does a typical drive last in ETS 2?  I tried the demo, it seemed like the scenery is pretty much the same as you travel--I noticed forests, but didn't notice things like small villages, etc that you see in a sim like Rail Simulator.  Then again, the demo may be missing a lot of scenery.

So far the longest trip I'm made was just shy of 2,000 kilometers. Of course I have a map mod installed that adds about 30 towns/villages in North Africa, so my trip was from Zuwara to Aberdeen (from Z to A for a change)...

I saw everything from palm trees, to desert scrub, to sand dunes, and vegetation typical to the areas I passed through.

The demo is the complete release map, but several patches have added a few cities to the base, and of course there are some quality (free) modded maps available.

In "real time" that trip took just over 4 hours... B)

Wow--2000 kilometers in 4 hours!  Obviously you didn't observe the speed limit!  I'm appalled!  (Just kidding, of course).

And how did you get from Africa to Europe?  Is their a bridge somewhere that I don't know about?

Seriously, sounds like a lot of fun.  The demo runs brilliantly on my system with top notch graphics, so I may give the full version a try.

ETS2 and Railworks 2013 are amazing, love them both :drinks:

ETS2 is awesome at level 27 own 3 trucks and make money without lighting a finger with the drivers I hire.  Map mods some are awesome and keep you using the game for months on end. Get some web radio going in the truck with stations all over Europe your good to go.

Ah man....You guys are going to get me into ETS2 next. I am still addicted to Farm Simulator 2013 for now. I am trying to save up for better tractors at the moment. Soon I will be into the ETS2

I have a total of over 230hours in 2 months on Farm Sim 2013.....hate that sim for being amazing and fun  Plus I bought the iphone version of Farm Sim 2012 which is also fun and addicting.  Try these sites for the best mods:

by the way, if you open up the "careersavegame.xml" in notepad, you can edit/cheat in the game but it ruins the fun.

This is the best tractor in the game: PMDG QUALITY, NO JOKE!

Speeds are limited* to 90kph (~55mph) throughout Europe via engine governors. Between cities time/distance is compressed ~5:1 so travel times are much reduced.

There are ferries located (using the TSM v2.1 map mod) in several cities along the shore. The only truly rediculous travel option is traveling to Rome's Fumicino Airport to take a *plane* to Tripoli!

* Unless one has a "no speed limit" mod installed. <_<

No I refuse to do that. I don't like to cheat either. I just like being a laid back farmer at the end of my day, enjoy a beer and plow a field.

Cheers

Kind of addicted to ETS 2 myself, gathered over 7 million euro for my trucking company (modded of-course ^_^) Driven over 23,000 km.

They are also working on an American Truck Simulator, which should be really cool! Used to play 18 WOS back in the day, so the new one should be really awesome, especially if they use the physics engine they put into ETS 2!

they are also working on a Bus Simulator(not a city bus)

In the next weeks or months, their numerous customers around the world will have new trucks (new Iveco, new Volvo FH) and enhancements for free through the future updates, but also expansions currently in development and with little infos available.

New simulators are also being preparing in their studio, involving travel buses and US trucks.

I thought they were adding the buses to a future patch. Lets hope its not like their failed bus simulator they made a few years back. That was awful!
