April 26, 201313 yr Also we have our newest aircraft for Aer Lingus Regional arriving this week, an ATR 72-600 from Toulouse, 'St. Conall'. ^_^ ... ... We're on track to surpass last years record passenger numbers and profits. ... not like the original saint then!
April 26, 201313 yr I can now officially confirm that we will be acquiring 3 757-200's with an option for one more for expansion of our transatlantic services So from what fabulous airline will these 757's be leased? I presume they will not be in the EI livery. April 26, 201313 yr I feel sorry for those ATR pilots! Why so? Enjoying life away form the airlines that much eh? ^_^ Hi Rónán, I think I read somewhere that the 757s would only be leased (not acquired), starting in the summer 2014. But you probably have better info than I have. Bruno Indeed, it's going to be a 4 year damp lease, the aircraft will be put on the IAA's register under Aer Lingus. Cabin crew will be our own, flight deck crew will be coming from Air Contractors. ... not like the original saint then! Alas no, LOL... ^_^ So from what fabulous airline will these 757's be leased? I presume they will not be in the EI livery. They will be ex-Finair, operated by Air Contractor flight crew, and EIN cabin crew, Maintainence and insurance will be by Air Contractors. They will be painted in the full Aer Lingus Livery, and the Aer Lingus cabin interior for business and yet to be confirmed for economy. Regards, Ró. Rónán O Cadhain.
April 26, 201313 yr Why so? Enjoying life away form the airlines that much eh? Most definitely! That was probably the most underpowered aircraft that I've flown. The Thales avionics are nice but still I am surprised at how much better Garmin flight decks are in GA aircraft. Chris Miller

It will be great to see EI finally bring back the Boeings ^_^ Jesse Casserly ✌🏼️ https://www.youtube.com/user/JesseCasserly757 💻 i7-10750H 2.6 GHz / 5.0 GHz, 16GB DDR4, 512GB SSD, 1TB HDD, RTX 2080 Super Saitek X-56 HOTAS

The Thales avionics are nice but still I am surprised at how much better Garmin flight decks are in GA aircraft. AFAIK the new -600s are more powerful due to the newer engines used on them, never knew the classics were under-powered though, learn something new every day. Better than the old instrument panel before Garmin came to GA, or better than the Thales ones in the ATR? That's mad Ted! Kind of exciting actually, I love the 75! It will be great to see EI finally bring back the Boeings ^_^ Someone else was watching Fr. Ted last night LOL? ^_^ Yes, will be nice to have some Boeings in the fleet, even if only for 4 years until we get our A321NEO's... ^_^ Regards, Ró. Rónán O Cadhain.

Better than the old instrument panel before Garmin came to GA, or better than the Thales ones in the ATR? We had the upgraded engines in our aircraft and they were only slightly better the sim aircraft which was the small engines. The other problem is with the loading. Only 7 our allowed in the rear at a time which slowed the boarding process so much by the end of the day it compounded to adding two hours onto the schedule. The Thales is an improvement but when I've flown behind glass of the Garmin, nothing can compare to ease of use and added situational awareness. Chris Miller

Isn't there a stick that is lodged beneath the back to stop it tipping when boarding? Or is that an optional thing? Regards, Ró. Rónán O Cadhain.

It is but even if it drops on the stick it was a mandatory inspection. Our passengers were of the larger size and the 170 lbs weight it was predicated off was about half the weight of our normal passengers haha. Chris Miller

Surely it was just a case of those who were seated at the front boarded first no? Regards, Ró. Rónán O Cadhain.

April 30, 201313 yr Yep, they were big people. We had open assignment so everyone rushed to board. Hmmm, is it really that unstable? What aircraft are you on now typically with your current missions? Regards, Ró. Rónán O Cadhain.
April 30, 201313 yr Hmmm, is it really that unstable? What aircraft are you on now typically with your current missions? Regards, Ró. Yeah during boarding since it starts in the rear it made it dicey if it was a light cargo load in the front or if they loaded some stuff in the three cargo areas in the back. Now with the King Air B200 that we fly it is nearly impossible to get the CG out of the envelope. The only scenario we got it to go out of the envelope was to load the fuel tanks up and put two pilots in an empty airplane. We have some flights coming up tomorrow to some fun areas in British Columbia. I'll be taking my new camera with me so I hope to get some good shots and videos. Chris Miller
May 2, 201313 yr We have some flights coming up tomorrow to some fun areas in British Columbia. I'll be taking my new camera with me so I hope to get some good shots and videos. I look forward to seeing them. ^_^ Regards, Ró. Rónán O Cadhain.
May 2, 201313 yr I look forward to seeing them. ^_^ Regards, Ró. Well we were to busy to get any shots and my mount isn't big enough for my camera. If the company is awarded the bid we may be coming up here quite a bit more so I will have to get a gopro camera for these types of flights. Chris Miller
