April 26, 201313 yr Old thread, new post, the answer is: Xpax doesn't mind which A/C you use (Xpax is configurable to most A/C anyway). Just curious: What is the benefit you're hunting for when asking about Xpax? In conjunction with the NGX in particular? What happened to AVSIM
April 26, 201313 yr Does anyone know if XPAX will work with PMDG 737 NGX? I split your post off from an old topic and started a new topic. It's best to start a new topic. To answer your question. Yes. Every flight I have with the PMDG737 has XPAX enabled. You might need to make some minor mods to the XPAX configuration to allow a descent to at least 4000 fps as sometimes the TOD is late (because you enter a STAR and ILS for landing) and the FMC will suddenly take your aircraft in a near dive causing your virtual passengers to get all upset and you'll also be deducted points for a sudden dive. Reduce the boarding time for each passenger to say 1 or 2 too. Best regards, Jim Jim Young | AVSIM Online! - Simming's Premier Resource! April 27, 201313 yr Author Thanks for your replies. I'm looking for an ATC add-on for my FSX, and read about XPAX. Only aircraft I fly now is the PMDG 737 NGX, hence the question
April 27, 201313 yr I use ProATC-X with XPAX and the PMDG737. Best regards, Jim Jim Young | AVSIM Online! - Simming's Premier Resource! April 27, 201313 yr Xpax worth the 8 euro? I heard it does it doesn't operate within fsx. Is this a set and forget program or do I have to keep on multitasking out of full screen fsx? Soarbywire - Avionics Engineering
April 27, 201313 yr Xpax is not about ATC. There's online ATC and other offline/payware ATC around, which I don't know much about. The only two ATC addons I can comment on are: - RadarContact: reliable, professional, easy user interface, little system load, a bit "boring" and outdated-looking (that's just about the looks!) - ProFlightEmulator: more fiddling with the user interface, much more "entertainment" and variety in its ATC transmissions Decision for me was a huge trade-off: In the end I traded the more "live-like" features of PFE for easy interfacing and concentrated on RC4.3. Wasn't an easy decision at all ... Feel free to ask something specific in case you're concentrating on one of those! What happened to AVSIM
April 27, 201313 yr Is this a set and forget program or do I have to keep on multitasking out of full screen fsx? Once you start up FSX and then XPAX, you do not touch XPAX at all during the flight. It has a video that you can watch if you are in Windowed Mode to give you the sense of passengers waiting at the gate, then boarding with video of them walking down the jetway, and then showing the passengers inside the aircraft. Once they are all loaded, you'll see them seated in their seats with no one walking around the cabin. During taxi, the flight attendants can be seen giving the safety warnings as you taxi your aircraft to the runway. But you don't need to look at it and you can simply fly. If there are problems during the flight, like you diving down toward the ground, the passengers will scream and you'll see a point deduction notice on the screen. If you taxi too fast or make sudden turns, you'll also get point deductions. Best regards, Jim Jim Young | AVSIM Online! - Simming's Premier Resource! April 27, 201313 yr thanks, I'll have to consider this -- its either this or pro-atc for the next purchase Soarbywire - Avionics Engineering
April 27, 201313 yr If there are problems during the flight, like you diving down toward the ground, the passengers will scream and you'll see a point deduction notice on the screen Thanks for that Jim, that alone almost makes it worth buying XPax for, just for that roller coaster experience.. April 28, 201313 yr I have used both FSPassengers and XPAX... due to lack of development for both I now use FSCaptain.. I really like the ' pilot as a job ' feel of FS Captain. I never really liked the 'Airline Manager' feel of FSPassengers.. and the XPAX interface was too much like running a separate complete program just to hear some cabin sounds and such..
