April 27, 201313 yr Is it me, or is there no spot view with the Q400? I can find the locked spot, but not the view which allows you to fly around the aircraft smoothly with the hatswitch. I hope it's a question of a small cfg tweak, as this is virtually the only external view I use. Is anyone else experiencing this too? Cheers... April 27, 201313 yr Hi howard cant see how the q400 would effect your spot view since it works fine on my end, I usually press the "s" key which brings me out to the outside spot view, where than I can pan around up or down using my hat switch. The only thing I have trouble with is finding the light switch when its cold and dark state and at night time. April 27, 201313 yr Hi howard cant see how the q400 would effect your spot view The following is said in banter..... You don't know Howard, if anything can go wrong it will happen to Howard. It normally turns out to be at his end. If he dropped a slice of buttered bread it's 100% going to land butter down. We would find at some point he knocked it of his plate himself. That's our Howard and we would not want him any other way. /man hug. banter over try right clicking on the screen/view /out side/spot=works fine my end Howard. David Murden. April 27, 201313 yr Commercial Member Hi Howard, Is there any other add-on that requires the alteration of your view keys (EZDOK, OPUS)? Initially during testing I screwed up EZDOK, and almost spent an entire night trying to truble shoot why the Dashes spot view was INOP - but that was just me having tunnel vision. April 27, 201313 yr Hi Howard, I am experiencing the same. The default camera view under the S key is Spot, Tower, Flyby and Ground view. With all my addon aircraft the Spot view is a smooth pan. Release the hatswich and the pan comes to a smooth stop in 1-2 secs. However no smooth pan with the Q400. I can still pan but only with immediate stops. Very unattractive. Perhaps Crosswind can look into this a bit deeper and advise us.

Hi Simeon, no, I have changed nothing after installing the Q400 with no success. I've tried selecting spot and locked spot from right clicking, but the result is I end up with just locked spot view!!! April 28, 201313 yr There is a thread on the majestic forum dedicated to this topic. The reason there is no spot view is due to the dash 8 being completely independent of the fsx fde (acronym city). They had to fudge it a bit and the view is actually derived from fsx slew mode. I too don't really care for the new outside view, but the rest of the aircraft more than makes up for this deficiency imo.
April 29, 201313 yr Here's another acronym for you, read the FAQ on the Majestic website, it's covered there, lol. Cheers, Andy.
April 29, 201313 yr Author Here's another acronym for you, read the FAQ on the Majestic website, it's covered there, lol. Thanks Andy, I have not visited the Majestic site as often such questions are adequately answered in a support forum. I have visited the forum but never really found any conclusive response from the developer to my question. There is also a fair amount of disagreement, such as this posted by another guy When pressing "s" in FSX I get the outside view and then I can switch to locked and unlocked spot view. But having visited the FAQ page I can now see an official response to this question, which incidentally, although is disappointing, is not a deal breaker. April 29, 201313 yr Yes you can switch to locked and unlocked spot view, but they both act the same as locked spot view, the momentum effect (like a fluid mount on a tripod) is not available, only the instant unsmoothed movement type is available due momentum effects not being supported in pseudo slew mode. Cheers, Andy.
