October 5, 200421 yr Don, re-download and re-install the aircraft. That should get it to load for you.I can confirm that the NAV and Strobes appear to be misplaced and the one time I tried the aircraft, I had a problem with the starters not engaging. Will try it again AFTER I read the directions...Ed GreenKCLThttp://www.panelshop.com/DEV.jpghttp://www.globecargo.org/images/VAA_Sen_captain.jpg:-wink2
October 5, 200421 yr >Just downloaded the new download and the panel now seems to>work fine. On another note has anyone noticed that the nav>lites and strobe lites on the plane seem to be a long ways off>of where they should be? If any one has a simple fix for this>I would be most grateful. So far the panel has been well worth>the wait.>Thank you Mr Carty>>Don:-jumpy I had a go at fixing them and came up with this:(lights) //Types: 1=beacon, 2=strobe, 3=navigation, 4=cockpitlight.0 = 3,-27.25, -71.25, 8.7, fx_navredlight.1 = 3,-27.25, 71.25, 8.7, fx_navgrelight.2 = 3, -75.55, 0, 10.34, fx_navwhilight.3 = 2, -27.10, -70.0, 8.7, fx_strobelight.4 = 2, -27.10, 70.0, 8.7, fx_strobelight.5 = 2, 0, 0, -2.75, fx_strobelight.6 = 1, 0, 0, 12.94, fx_beaconlight.7 = 4, 61.29788, -1.563525, 9.739993, fx_vclightUse square brackets to surrond "lights" rather than the round ones. The forum doesnt like those for some reason.I may not have them in the exact right places but I think it looks a little better. Just cut and paste into the aircraft.cfg file, replacing the old lights section.
October 5, 200421 yr Moderator On her ferry flight from KJFK to KORD, for delivery to the new owner and the paintshop, she's suffered complete engine failure TWICE already.I'm have to divert to Cleveland, where hopefully a visit to the AP & a read of the POH by the ferry pilot will shed some light on this odd behavior. It did make for some interesting moments though, as I struggled to kick start the fires again! :)Oh, you folks might want to add the following to eliminate the "Experimental" call from ATC...[General]atc_type = Boeingatc_model = B703 Fr. October 5, 200421 yr Just finished first flight from Salt Lake to San fran. I keeps you busy this panel certainly while climbing and decending. It is a bit of a pain thou not having the autopilot controls on the main panel. Having to adjust the autopilot in the blind is a little unnerving.Re the engine failure had this happen to me too until I read in the manual about having to have the booster pumps on over 15000 ft. apparently if ya dont the lights go out. Its definately a challenge.Don
October 6, 200421 yr Hi nigelb, I worked on the lights and was uncertain of some positions, then saw your version. Since then I've combined the two versions and made further fine adjustments: (LIGHTS)//Types: 1=beacon, 2=strobe, 3=navigation, 4=cockpitlight.0 = 3, -29.9, -72.25, 8.9, fx_navredlight.1 = 3, -29.9, 72.25, 8.9, fx_navgrelight.2 = 3, -75.52, 0, 10.34, fx_navwhilight.3 = 2, -28.45, -71.75, 8.9, fx_strobelight.4 = 2, -28.45, 71.75, 8.9, fx_strobelight.5 = 2, 0, 0, -2.75, fx_strobelight.6 = 1, 0, 0, 12.94, fx_beaconlight.7 = 4, 61.29788, -1.563525, 9.739993, fx_vclightI placed some lights a bit closer to the plane as they did appear too far away. Also placed the wing lights a little further out after noticing all other planes I checked against had the red and green wing nav lights as far out as possible, often at the side of the wing rather than on the front edge. I don't yet understand light.7 as I think it is for a VC? This plane doesn't have one. I also find that the wing lights switch doesn't work. The only way to get them to come on is with the keyboard. Hoping I haven't put you out but would like to know what you think anyway.
October 6, 200421 yr Moderator He's using the vc .fx light to provide "cockpit lighting" for the spot view...I commented it out because I loathe that nasty "pink light..." :) Fr. Bill AOPA Member: 07141481 AARP Member: 3209010556 Avsim Board of Directors | Avsim Forums Moderator
October 6, 200421 yr >Hi nigelb, >I worked on the lights and was uncertain of some positions,>then saw your version. Since then I've combined the two>versions and made further fine adjustments: -------snip >Hoping I haven't put you out but would like to know what you>think anyway. Not at all! That was my first attempt at adjusting lights and I had the wing lights a bit in front of the wings because I thought they should be a bit brighter. Actually I know that can be adjusted in the effects file so I am not sure what the heck I was thinking! I guessed at the positions but I think it was an educated guess because I think I could see "bumps" on the model where the beacon, undercarriage strobe and tail nav lights should go, but that could be my ageing eyesight :) Anyway, I welcome your changes. I will try your version as soon as I log off - and thanks for the help, that is what this is all about, helping one another to enjoy!
October 6, 200421 yr >...It is a bit of a pain thou not having the autopilot>controls on the main panel. Having to adjust the autopilot in>the blind is a little unnerving....>>DonI agree! Especially on finals but I also like to see what is going on when I adjust the pitch on the AP. I am thinking of cheating by creating a second AP (same as the pedestal one) in, dare I say this..., a "pop-up" window. It would be available from the main panel. Not authentic, but then if I were flying the real bird I could glance up a lot faster than I can find the spot to mouse click to get back to the main panel, after invariably going to the wrong panel first, because I clicked the wrong spot, all the while becoming anxious because I could be heading straight into a mountain.Hmmm, maybe I am one of those "mouse challenged" individuals.
October 6, 200421 yr >........but would like to know what you>think anyway. charlie, all I can say is spot on! I took her for a spin from Stansted to Glasgow and your lights are just right. Good Job. BTW, this baby is a handful to fly because the throttle lags a lot. I think I might check my fuel management next time and maybe read the docs more thoroughly, landing with almost full tanks at EGPF was quite an experience, but not a really good idea. ;)

October 6, 200421 yr Thanks Don, I reckon this plane is well worth spending the time on fine adjustments so why not share all changes/improvements.
October 6, 200421 yr Unfortunatly, none of the [Windowxx] lines appear in the post above because the forum does not like "[]" Unless you post in plain text. (Which I just discovered, btw.) There is a box for this at the top of the reply window, tick/check to enable. Maybe you can post the panel.cfg file for the CIVA modification as an attachment, otherwise I think some people are going to be a bit confused.
