Screen Flicker During Weather Update

Featured Replies

Hi

Thanks for the tip.

Unfortunatelly it does not work with  iFly.

When I insert PanelAsTexture=0 in 2D cockpit I have black area instead panels.

And I don't have AA enabled in fs9 settings.

Thanks

Edin

Just checked my IFly and it looks better than it ever did.

You put PanelAsTexture=0 in your FS9 cfg yes?

I have Nvidia.

Thanks. I have ATI. Will try later and report.

Hi

I tried again and in case that I enable AA inside CCC (Catalyst Control Center) it does not work. My 2D panel is black.

If I inside CCC chose Use Aplication Settings then it works but I don't have AA enabled.

So in my case it does not work as it should.

I'm using HD5770

Hi,

I have an AMD Radeon HD 6570. After Tim provided this tweak I have set AA to 4x via CCC v.13-1 and had no problems with 2D panels. I tested this with DF 727, Calclassics DC-6, Nemeth Design Mi-2, Rebuffat Bf 109, Mike Copleys P-38J, SCS Tu-134, Milton Shupes Beech D-18 and nearly all other planes I have (including the stock C172).

Yes I dropped my AA to 4 and the panels reappeared. ATI graphics.

Hi

No progress in my case.

I lowered AA from 8 to 4 and still same problem with iFly.

If I choose Use Application Settings then it works but then I don't have AA

Could somebody share CCC settings.

FYI I'm using CAT 12.10.

Thanks

Wow!! I will have to try this. I leave the topic for a few days and have all these great posts.

While I wait to try, has anyone tried this with the LDS767 panel? I have my AA in Nvidia inspector at 4X.

Thanks in advance. Can't wait to try it (I had tested with with many months ago for another tweak but never tried it with a weather engine)!

I need some help from you guys. This tweak is not working like it is working for both of you. LDS767 and FS9 on Win7 64-bit with 4GB patch and AERO/Visual Themes disabled.

NVIDIA 9800GTX+
NVIDIA Inspector AA Setting: 4X (Tried at 4XS as well)

Tired:
PanelAsTexture=0
Panel_as_Texture=0
Panel_as_Texture=1

Opened FS via ASE and opened FS then ASE and in all cases I still have extreme flicker every minute when the weather updates. Any suggestions? I just don't understand how it can work for some but not others and it is really starting to ###### me off :mad:

Thanks,
Gary

Bump.....

Anyone else have any ideas? I can restore the videos if you need them.

I bumped this b/c I had my hopes really high for FSGRW but after testing the trail. I'm still getting this issue. The PanelAsTextutre=0 doesn't work for me either.

I think I've narrowed it down to the end of the weather update with these engines if that helps.

Thanks,

Gary

Hi,

I have set "PanelAsTexture=0" and the flickering never occured again. Very sad that it doesn't work for you.

Just in case, did you check that you have inserted it below the correct [DISPLAY.Device.******] section?

Yes I tried it..... the only thing I didn't do was have it right under that line (I had a few lines down in that section). I just wonder if I need to place it directly under [DISPLAY.Device]? Something is fishy here since it is working for everyone else  :(

My entry looks:

[DISPLAY.Device.AMD Radeon HD 6570.0]
Mode=1280x1024x32
MipBias=5
PanelAsTexture=0

Note: I use FS2004 in windowed mode exclusively.

Mine looks:

[DISPLAY.Device.NVIDIA GeForce GTX 285.0]
Mode=1600x1200x32
PanelAsTexture=0

I always use FS9 full screen.
