May 14, 201313 yr Hi i have never used this tweak before. I woud like to know how to get wideviewaspect=true not to look so stretch out when looking to the right or left with Track IR. Someone suggested that by getting the correct zoom setting for my monitor it might reduce that effect from wideviewaspect. Does anyone know what is the correct zoom setting for a 32" LCDTV Monitor ? An how to reduce that effect from looking so stretch out when you are in VC of any aircraft? May 14, 201313 yr Just adjust the zoom until you find what looks good to you. It's going to be different for everyone, but usually on a 16:9 screen (which if your monitor/TV is 1080p, it's 16:9) around 0.60 to 0.70 zoom looks about right to me.
May 14, 201313 yr Is it possible to change the default zoom level for each view? I don't like adjusting my zoom every time I begin a flight.

May 14, 201313 yr Depends on the plane. I use anywhere from .80 to 1.00 but I use TrackIR. | My Liveries | FAA ZMP | PPL ASEL | | Windows 11 | MSI Z690 Tomahawk | 12700K 4.7GHz | MSI RTX 4080 | 64GB 6000 MHz DDR5 | 500GB Samsung 860 Evo SSD | 2x 2TB Samsung 970 Evo M.2 | EVGA 850W Gold | Corsair 5000X | HP G2 (VR) / LG 27" 1440p |

May 14, 201313 yr I recently started taking flying lessons lessons in a PA-28 and one of the things I wanted to do was to compare the visual perspective with what I see in my Carenado Archer II. I usually set my VC around 60-70% zoom, and then back up the seat a bit more using the eye viewpoint commands. In the real PA-28 you are quite close to the panel. And when you are coming in to land, the runway looks closer and larger in perspective (until you are right on it).. I think this is due to the fact that when you zoom the VC view back, the outside view also moves away, making everything outside the airplane seem farther away. Therefore, I have decided to move my zoom up to 80-90% when I get into the final approach, on all of my aircraft, as I think this is closer to the real world. The reason we like to zoom out in the VC's is so that we can see more of the panel in side view, but in real life you see more of the panel by turning your head and looking to the right or left - so maybe need to get a TrackIR. I agree with Ryan Butterworth: close in to the panel and use TrackIR to expand your peripheral vision if you want.to be more like the real world. I am getting the hang of this windowviewaspect. This is my first time using it correctly an i manage to not get the image so stretch out when looking left an right .
