This technology will change Flightsim forever

Recommended Posts

A Brisbane company; maybe I'll drive over and pay them a visit.

This technology was originally created for gaming, I'm wondering if they can tune it for simulator use.

Looks like a game...changer ;o)  Yes, pay these people a visit and BEG them to create the final flight simulator!

Looks great! Imagine a flight sim with that tech. I saw some people in the flight forum say that they liked the idea of getting out after a flight. With this you could get out, maybe they could incorporate a car sim ( or trains for those that like train simulation) go into a real town and virtually hang out till the next flight. The possibility for several types of sims (flight, train, farm, whatever) certainly seems plausible with this technology.

So now we wait for someone to license the tech, find a way to stick a plane on top that is as real as the scenery, get some network capability on it (multi "player") and take our money! They could even charge a subscription fee or seasonal fee for things like the changing of the seasons or when something new is being built (or old that has been demolished) that change the landscape. But why stop there? Scan an atoll or two for a scuba folks. Lots of possibilities.

Well it all sounds easy on a forum but I'm sure there are major reasons it won't happen. Hopefully everyone that likes to sim will get a chance to simulate whatever they wish with this level of detail. Let's hope its sooner rather than later.

Those were the same guys who promised the end of polygons a couple of years ago. they will need to do some sort of live demo if we're to believe this thing.
