I changed my mind and instead of a helicopter I figured I'd be better served with a single engine non turbo prop aircraft and I can't tell if this bird is a turboprop or just comes with a suped up engine or is essentially a turbo?

It's a normally aspirated (not turbo-charged) piston plane.  Big piston engine, little bitty slippery airframe.  :-)

It has loads of speed so I wouldn't worry about the power, in fact slowing down is the problem.

Which is why it has speed brakes  -_-
