Same here. I used ENB on my old C2D WinXP 32bit system for years with FSX and never had any crashes, FPS loss or other problems. Just recently I moved on to a new rig that is Win 7 64bit and installed my old ENB set up and just like on the old rig, no problems at all. Makes me really wonder what is different about my last two installs on two completely different machines that gave me no issues using ENB and those who have also tried it on their system  and have a lot of issues with FPS and crashes.

So far my best setup has when using ENB has been the 24hour ENB palette and .ini that was posted on the REX forum and HDEv2 sky textures. That ENB setup can be used with any sky texture combo and so far for me has proven to be about as good as it can get for a realistic looking day and night without being overly bright or bloomy, or too dark looking in the day time.

Same here Sean, i tested that same one you have tested an no crashes. On my old rig i would only get black screen issues with other ENB Setup. But with the 24 hour ENB palette its a keeper. No crashes no nothing with others it normally crash when selecting any option from the menu . It won't  crash on takeoff , landing or approach .  Why would other ENB crash but not this one ?  I could never figure that one out . But as long as it works i can enjoy sweetfx an 24 Hour ENB MOD all together no FPS Killer with either one .  When i notice something got to be wrong with my rig was when i think back when i had FSX on XP 64 an ENB never used to crash or nothing . Then went into VISTA CTD when going into menu option many thought i need to add the UIAutomationCore did that an still would crash . It was just yesterday when i went over my XP -64 Files an i saw the good old ENB i used for FSX. I try it today all day did several flight on Orbx Scenery no crashes , also KJFK from FSDT no CTD .  Could be that some ENB setting are to hard on the GPU an it causes fsx to crash i really don't know am just guesting .

Hello,

i was wondering, if PMDG have any recommendation as for which ENB to use with the NGX, I'm really starting to like the ENB/SWEETFX/FXAA color correction. Cheers.

Just a little HU , Nvidia 320 Drivers makes ENB crash this was said by BORIS himself in a article i read.

  • 1 month later...

I fly the PMDG all the time and it doesn't make a difference whether I use FXAA or ENB, I get loads of crashes every time.  It really is a shame, because I had this one absolutely perfect FXAA setup and ENB 24hr was basically perfect as well.  Sigh...

I wish there was a way to apply these effects in video editing, since I make vids for YouTube I wonder if there's a way to add this effect in Sony Vegas or something.
