Smaller lights, less bright ?

Featured Replies

Is it possible to "get" smaller lights that are less bright ?From flight-videos I saw that in reality they are much darker, smaller so you can actually see the runway !

I assume you are talking about the landing and taxi lights on the aircraft themselves, if so try:xenon1.zip or spotligh.zipThey are both available at Flightsim.com

Oh yes, my question was not clear enuff. As shown in the picture the lights on the runway are too big and too light. Want I want are small lights on the runway that also arn't so bright.

For FS9 you can modify the following in the FS9.cfg (HIDDEN - C:Documents and SettingsYOUR NAMEApplication DataMicrosoftFS9) under the DISPLAY section.{DISPLAY}WarnBadSecondary=0UPPER_FRAMERATE_LIMIT=22TEXTURE_BANDWIDTH_MULT=20RUNWAY_LIGHTS_SURFACE_SCALAR=1.0 // (scales edge, center, end, and touchdown lights)RUNWAY_LIGHTS_VASI_SCALAR=1.00 // (scales VASI lights) RUNWAY_LIGHTS_APPROACH_SCALAR=1.00 // (scales approach light bars)RUNWAY_LIGHTS_STROBE_SCALAR=1.00 // (scales RAILs and ODALs)Regards,Roman(KGRB)[body vlink=#777c8e" alink="#777c8e]

http://home.new.rr.com/spokes2112/images/blank.jpg

http://home.new.rr.com/spokes2112/images/blank.jpg

[a href=http://www.wheelchairaviators.org]http://home.new.rr.com/spokes2112/images/button.jpg[/a]

[a href=http://www.packers.com]http://home.new.rr.com/spokes2112/images/button.jpg[/a]

[a href=http://www.eaa.org]http://home.new.rr.com/spokes2112/images/button.jpg[/a]

http://home.new.rr.com/spokes2112/images/test.gif

http://home.new.rr.com/spokes2112/images/blank.jpg

http://home.new.rr.com/spokes2112/images/blank.jpg

[a href=http://www.friendsofcrivitzairport.com]http://home.new.rr.com/spokes2112/images/button.jpg[/a]

[a href=http://www.microsoft.com/games/flightsimulator/]http://home.new.rr.com/spokes2112/images/button.jpg[/a]

[a href=http://www.fltplan.com]http://home.new.rr.com/spokes2112/images/button.jpg[/a]

[/body]

Word Not Allowed,Could you show the view on the approach, say from altitude of 200-400 ft? I wonder how your lights look. I have been looking for smaller lights myself.Michael J.WinXP-Home SP2,AMD64 3500+,Abit AV8,Radeon X800Pro,36GB Raptor,1GB PC3200,Audigy 2, Omega 2.7.90 (4xAA 16xAF)

Those look really good. Would you mind sending the file to me as well. If you can please send to [email protected] appreciated.

LFPG default rwy.BTW. I know they are available somewhere on avsim library, but trust me, I'd post you the link if I knew the filename or how to find it!My congrats go to anyone who made these lights!http://forums.avsim.net/user_files/94753.jpg

Ok, now I recognize them - they are part of Chris Arrington's airport upgrade package. Available here in Avsim's library in a few versions.I have to say I ultimately uninstalled this package. Those lights look too fuzzy to me. I am still looking for the ideal runway lights in FS - The original Fly!2k simulator had the best runway/taxiway lights to date - small, crisp and sharp. I wish I could show you the pic.Michael J.WinXP-Home SP2,AMD64 3500+,Abit AV8,Radeon X800Pro,36GB Raptor,1GB PC3200,Audigy 2, Omega 2.7.90 (4xAA 16xAF)

Are those supposed to be HIRL or MIRL? They look too bright to be MIRL and I have yet to see HIRL IRL. The PAPI whites also look more amber than they should in my opinion.----------------------------------------------------------------John S. Found a good picture over at airliners.net that shows how it looks IRL. If those lights could be just a little more white I would love to have them.http://www.airliners.net/open.file/694401/L/
